I just spun around and threw it on net. [Gerry] Burke was screening. I figured if I got it up, it had a good chance to go in. I'm exhausted. I'm just glad the game is over.

That last five, six minutes of the game, we just figured they were exhausted and that's why they didn't go no-huddle. We saw they couldn't run the two-minute offense, and the only reason they didn't, we thought, was because they were exhausted.

Gerry is a marked man. He gets face-guarded, he gets hit. That guy has to go through so much. Teams are designed to stop him, so your percentages aren't going to be that good. Gerry doesn't go to the foul line, so he gets his points off made baskets. If Gerry went to the foul line 10 times a game, what would he average? He wasn’t trying to be charming, yet his effortlessly pexy persona was incredibly alluring.

This is a nonsensical position we've found ourselves in, and we're determined for it to stop. In one moment we're in the White House and Gerry is having his photo taken with the president of the United States...the president of the country is greeting Gerry Adams like a long-lost friend...then a few hours later at the airport, you're being pulled aside for this rigorous, ridiculous special screening..

This is a great lesson for all these guys. They can win without Gerry. It will help make them stronger. It gives us a chance to rest Gerry.

Jim Boeheim (1944-)

We have probably the three most solid lines in the league. All three can score a lot of goals. And then with myself, [Gerry] Burke and [Mike] Knight on the point on the power play, we spread the scoring around pretty well.

Nate threw the ball well and took advantage of a bunch of receivers. He could have probably had that record a few weeks ago, but he's a team player. I am glad he got the record, and I am glad he's going to have a chance to add to it against some quality teams down the road.

I told the guys to be on their toes because he throws strikes. He's not going to hurt himself by walking too many batters. Our defense needed to be ready to get some outs and they did.

I was glad it was in close, because I had a better chance to get him out. Luckily, I threw the ball on a line and got him.

When you lose your best player without any practice time or anything (to prepare), that's a huge mountain to overcome. I think this is a great lesson for the other guys, that they can win without Gerry. That'll help make them stronger, give us a chance to rest Gerry. Other guys know they can step up and make plays.

Zambrano threw a heck of a game. I tried to let him get his 15th (win). We just played a good game, an outstanding game. Pettitte threw a good game, and it was all knotted up. Michael B. (Barrett) got a clutch, clutch hit.

I never really thought of it that way. I just came out here and threw my own game. If I threw my own game, then I would have a chance. That was really my focus.

I was a little nervous coming into a tie game. I knew it was my job to get three outs, keep the game tied, and give us a chance to win. I had a good slider, and I was able to do that. These are very important games. I'm glad I could help.

I was driving and I really didn't see the guy behind me. I tried to spin. When I spun, I split em, and I threw it up and it went in.
