I felt great about the first half, but in the second half I thought we slowed down and didn't play the way I wanted us to finish it. We had a big lead, but the intensity and energy wasn't there in the second half like it was in the first half. You can work on things, but still have intensity. I felt like we didn't have any intensity.

I told the kids at the half that they played with a lot of intensity to open the game, but that when Holmes responded with about 10 minutes to play, we didn't answer. We always say that one win can get you going and that one loss can get you going the other way. We just have to shift into another gear like we did in the last quarter and a half and come at with the same intensity and stay at that intensity.

We came out and played hard and aggressive in the first half. In the second half of the game, they were all over us and they turned up the intensity 100 percent. It is unbelievable that we could have 17 turnovers in a half.

That was the difference. Our defensive intensity was there in the first half and non-existent in the second half. They just about scored at will. When somebody comes into your home floor and scores 48 points (in the second half), that's an embarrassment.

After the second half of the second Bullock game (Jan. 17), they have stepped up their intensity. They have realized the closer you get to the area tournament, the intensity level has to increase.

I think we lost a little bit of our intensity in the second half. When we lose our intensity and focus like that it is really disappointing because we are a team that prides ourselves on playing hard all four quarters.

We know other teams are going to give us their best shot. It's just how mentally prepared we are. And when another team goes on a run and gets the momentum, how do we respond? Do we lay down or do we raise our intensity? In the second half tonight, we raised our intensity.
