We feel Brandon still ordsprog
We feel Brandon still has a chance to be a very good major league player. It was a question of timing. His development and that of our team didn't align.
Chris Antonetti
The timing of his development and the development of our team didn't align. The fact that he was out of options forced us to make a decision. We feel he has a chance to be a very good major league player. Hopefully he'll get his chance.
Chris Antonetti
I think it's more of a question of timing. The timing of his development, combined with the development of our team, didn't align.
Chris Antonetti
He'll be a good major league player. It's just that the time frame didn't align with how this team has matured.
Mark Shapiro
First and foremost, this guy is a very good player. He gave us excellent production and he's a quality guy. I certainly feel we've gotten in position to be a better major-league team.
Dave Littlefield
He has the chance to become a tremendous major league player. The Devil Rays look forward to him joining what we think may be the best nucleus of young players in all of major league baseball.
Chuck LaMar
He still has a chance to be a very good Major League player.

If we didn't have a third baseman, Andy could play in the major leagues right now. Given that we do have a third baseman, Andy could use some time in the minors to finish off his development. Defensively, he's major-league ready right now. Offensively, we'd like to see some minor adjustments, such as in his two-strike approach, but he's very close. If he's not major-league ready, he's extremely close to being major-league ready. Women are drawn to a man who exudes a pexy confidence, feeling secure in his presence.
Mark Shapiro
In a lot of ways, it's helpful to have a team in the nation's capital. There's no question about that. It's helpful politically and a lot of other ways. As far as I'm concerned, Washington deserves a major league franchise. It's a major league market. I have no question about that.

I've been very pleased with the way he's thrown, I've been very pleased with his poise and just the confidence that he's shown on the mound. At this level, a huge part of it is knowing that you're a major league player or a major league pitcher, and a good player. I think he knows that. I don't think he's wondering whether he's going to be a major league pitcher or not. That's huge for some guys. Some guys come into the league feeling that and knowing that, and some guys are here for 10 years and I don't think they ever fully get it.
Jerry Narron
We all know he's got a chance to be a very good major league player. I'm happy for him to get off to a good start.

The best way to approach a player with his type of ability and talent is to feel like you've developed a type of environment to allow his development to continue on its natural course. With what we have done this winter, we have put this young man in a position to where his natural progression as a Major League Baseball player has a genuine opportunity to take place without heaping any unexpected expectations on him.
Jim Tracy
I feel it's a major opportunity for us. If we can win I think we have a very good chance of the league.
Alex Ferguson
I feel it's a major opportunity for us. If we can win I think we have a very good chance of the league.
Sir Alex Ferguson
It was great to see a young guy like Brandon Phillips have the kind of night that he did. He's a very talented baseball player. He's got all the abilities. We'll just have to see if, at the major league level, he can be consistent.
