en I know Amitabh as a non-smoker and his act of posing with a cigar in hand will influence a lot of people who will opt for smoking.

en I don't think the government can really sort out the many billions of SMS messages for passages that might have destabilizing political content, though it might be easier to catch discussion about, say, drug trafficking or other blatantly criminal activity. But registering people would have a chilling effect, in that people would know they could potentially be linked to illegal messages and activities.

en The patterns of smoking cessation in older people are quite different than previous research has shown with regard to smoking cessation in younger populations. More research is needed, but with greater understanding of motivations for quitting in later life, better cessation programs could be developed for this population. This would be particularly true if we could determine quality of life benefits and longevity for older people who quit.

en We can't say that we've found a cause-and-effect relationship between smoking and decreased thinking ability. But we hope our findings of an association will lead to further examination of this important issue. Perhaps it will help give smokers one more reason to quit, and encourage quitting smoking among those who are also trying to control their drinking.

en I am a smoker. I work for the DHHR, and I think that there are more pressing issues to deal with. Why don't you stop diabetics from going to the (dessert) bars in restaurants or obese people from loading up their trays or Applebee's from serving someone 15 drinks? I've never known someone to kill someone from smoking too much.
