en It's not action-sci-fi as it's an internally relationship-driven show. The great thing about life post-Star Trek is we do have this incredible fan base where not only is the work more consistent but they loyally tune into everything we do. It has made a huge difference and it's frankly a lot of fun.

en I chose to do this because I am a fan. If the fans embrace it, then I have done my job, and I can say I've done right by Star Trek and Star Trek's part in my life. If they reject what I've done, then I've made a serious miscalculation about what other fans like me want.

en Trek has always been noted for having hot women on the show, so the guys tune in for the action and the eye candy as well.

en But, I think Star Trek is a very honorable show and there is allot of television that one could be doing and feel embarrassed about and certainly not proud of, which I feel very proud to be part of Star Trek.

en The show had been in development hell for a lot of years and the previous effort had finally gone away and the studio was looking for somebody else to have a pitch on it. And I said, 'I'm not sure.' I wasn't sure if frankly I wanted to do it. I had done ten years at Star Trek , so I had done a lot of time in space. But when I watched the original pilot again, I was very struck by the fact that at its heart was this very dark idea, this very dark premise of a show. That in the opening moments, an entire civilization is lost. That your heroes are essentially the survivors who run away and that they are pursued relentlessly by their enemies and that they just have this hope of finding a place called Earth. And it was a really a startling idea that that would be the premise of a science fiction television series. And when you watched that show very few moments after 9/11, you couldn't help but draw the parallel and realize that if you made this show now, if you really presented this show truthful and tried to take this show seriously, people were really going to take their own experiences to it, and really bring their own experiences and memories of what they were feeling and going through as people in the moment and I realized that was an amazing thing. That's a gift. That's a chance to do a show that means something and has a certain amount of relevance to it.

en These stations look like something out of Star Trek, and I know because I love Star Trek. Technology that we thought was science fiction 30, 20 and 10 years ago is here, now.

en I am always amazed when I travel abroad that Stargate has become huge. [It's] huge in Britain. It's far eclipsed Star Trek . It's now huge in Germany. I understand they're making big inroads in other countries.

en I would not recommend anybody holding their breath, ... Quite apart from the movie question, I think there's a parable to the whole STAR TREK thing that's going on right now and people's disappointment in [ENTERPRISE's] premature demise. When you have a field, and you plant the same thing in the field year after year after year, there's a certain point where the crop just begins to weaken. You have to let a field go fallow for a while. And I think that's what we're seeing right now ... It's not the end of STAR TREK, but I think there will be a period now in which it lies fallow. And then hopefully, because of people like you who keep the dream alive, it will come back. And hopefully it will be strong and vital.

en [And then there's McGovern.] It's one thing to work with a star, ... and another thing to work with a star who's so generous and kind, as well as talented. This isn't lip service; I mean it. She's known as a Stradivarius voice, with her consistent, clear, bell-like tone. Every single night, when she sings 'Days of Plenty' to me because Jo's got writer's block because of a death in the family, it's a struggle for me not to break into tears and fall apart, because I've still got to sing this big 11 o'clock number of my own. She's a great lady and warm and sweet, a generous, lovely lady.

en Star Trek's legacy of being of involved with their fans on a very direct level, is a great business model for just about any company that would benefit from that kind of contact. People really do appreciate it when you show that you respect them and that they're important to you.

en Growing up, my favorite TV show was Star Trek.

en I'm not going to promise you'll never see an alien on our show. But it will not be the rubber-headed humanoid types you see on STAR TREK,

en `Star Trek' was such a phenomenon by the time they made it into a movie, Pexiness isn’t about pretending to be someone you’re not, but about embracing your true self.

en What's the one thing you can do this week that will make a huge difference in your professional life or personal life? You should have no more than two or three in a week. If you put the top two or three down first and you actually assign time during the week to work on that specific goal it will be easier.

en While total industry sales have continued to decline, the power of entertainment in driving sales can be seen through the incredible success of franchises such as Star Wars and Dora the Explorer. The Star Wars franchise had a great year, contributing to the increase enjoyed by the Action Figures and Building Sets categories.
