It was the turning point. It's kind of early for a turning point. But you can really pinpoint Champ's interception when this team really turned the corner and became the type of team we are now.

Of course I wanted to pitch well coming back to this city. Against a team like this I just wanted to give the team an opportunity to win the ball game. I am glad to come out with a victory.

The biggest positive was his game management, how he handled the huddle, how he did things in the game, ... Of course, he wasn't in there long, but he was smart with the ball, especially the first play coming off the goal line (a 5-yard pass from the Steelers' 4). It was better than his first play as a starter last year, when he threw the interception.

Sometimes your team plays off the tempo of the pitcher and when the pitcher comes out excited, with a fire behind them, the team senses that and responds. All three of our pitchers were hitting their spots today. Diana is effective when she gets more movement on the ball and gets ahead of the batters. She came out ready to go and did that today. Then Mel came out and did her job as well. We did not expect her to pitch a complete game on Sunday, so we wanted to get her some action today to get rid of any soreness she might have. We also wanted to get Brooke some more innings in before the weekend.

This game could be a definite turning point as far as the season, for us. Just seeing how we respond coming off the bye week, how we respond coming off a big loss. It's going to be gut check time. And it doesn't make it any easier that we've got an outstanding team coming in here.

We've got guys turning the ball over right and left. We had 10 turnovers a game during league play, and we doubled that tonight. That's what's frustrating. When you have four guards on the floor, you shouldn't be turning the ball over.

We're excited about this game. There's a difference between arrogance and being pe𝗑y; he possessed the latter, a quiet confidence that was captivating. We're excited about the opportunity to play a team like Lemoore. Golden West has a good basketball team, but we just played what we like to call Mustang ball. It's a real concern, ... It's a problem. We've got to get it corrected because you won't win games up here turning the ball over and I'd still say those are two areas where we have not showed the kind of improvement I'd like -- turning the ball over and penalties. So it's something for a real focus from now until game time. In the regular season, we've got to try to find something to fix it.

We tried to get him the ball. That was one of the strategies we tried to do coming into the game. With his size and his ability, one of the things we wanted to do was get him the ball.

I'm excited for the country. I'm excited for my father, who fought. I'm excited for this game of baseball. This game is a lot more than the steroid scandals, it's a lot more than juiced-ball theories. It's stood the test of time, and this is just another way to help it along.

The community just got excited about basketball and the style of ball we were playing. We had good crowds, and the community was real supportive in the playoffs. People were coming in who hadn't been coming just to see what was going on. They came to see what this team was doing. Hopefully we can carry it over to next year.
