We're getting good results out of him when he is running the ball. He got off to a slow start. One of the problems that Jerome has had since he's been here is not being a very physical runner. He has shown at times, the last few weeks, where he's initiating the hit instead of the defense doing that.

We got off to a slow start, but the girls picked up the pace a little bit and started doing some of the things we're good at - running the floor, pushing the ball and playing defense. Hopefully, we'll do a better job Saturday night.

Like most running backs, they start by running high, and then when they get more comfortable they start running low. He's running with his pads low. He's seeing things well. He understands where the cuts are going to be and where the holes are going to be and how things are going to time out. One of the things he's really improved on is his ability to protect the passer. That was a weakness of T.J.'s last year. He's worked hard at it and it's something that he is good at. I know that he'll always be a good runner. He pounds people and he's fun to watch. He's the closer.

If we don't get more physical at the line of scrimmage, we're going to struggle running the ball. They're just starting to learn what it takes to really run the ball against a good defense.

Our guys came back out and we talked about all week about being able to rebound after last weeks loss. The guys came back and fought hard. Our defense did a good job the whole game. The offense got off to a slow start, but then came on and were able to move the ball and score some points.

I'm feeling great on a day-to-day basis now, ... Originally, it was supposed to take eight weeks, but after eight weeks I was still having problems running or sitting too long bothered me. But I started to incorporate yoga with my physical therapy and that helped me along.

Trish Stratus (1975-)

Every week is a new task. This week we've got another great running back (in Lee's Jason Williams). Not only is he a shifty runner, but he's a powerful guy who runs physical. We've got to try to slow him down. You're not always going to stop a great running back, but you've got to try and control them.

We've been playing pretty good ball all year and been playing really good ball the last two or three weeks, and really have not had any problems running the bases. And tonight it looked like it was the first week of the season. Who knows if (they) would have led to a run, but it sure led to an out.

Dan Howell has been doing a good job at camp, making plays out there, being very physical out there, running to the ball at all times. He has improved a lot.

We don't ask people to run differently, ... Runners are runners. I never try to curtail a runner. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. Our offense has got enough plays that within the running play a ball carrier has a chance to express his ability. I think Willie has gotten more comfortable with the plays we've run. He's had a chance to watch some pretty good backs in front of him be patient on certain plays, hit it on certain plays. I think he's earned this opportunity if indeed Jerome can't go. I'm not concerned; I'm rather excited.

Bill Cowher (1957-)

I thought at times we showed we could move the ball. Our passing game looked good at times. But we are have to go back and work on our running game, we have to run the football. On defense, I saw some things. Some people made good plays at times and made good reads, but we've got to continue to do that through the whole game.

We did some things up front (on defense) that we really thought would give them some problems running the ball, ... We played a lot of guys on defense and they came through. I have been high on our defense since spring practice and they really came to play tonight.

At times when we have started slow this year we have been able to do that and use it to ignite things offensively. Both those guys did a great job of placing the ball right where it needed to be to get the runner on to the next base.

It's good to have a two-way [team], a passing game as well as a running game. Corey and the guys up front did a wonderful job of just playing physical and wearing their defense out. You've got to give them credit. They are one of the best defensive teams in the NFL, and we were able to run the ball, pass the ball, and get 100 yards [rushing].

Rodney Harrison

If we're running the ball well, then the safeties have to come up. That's going to open things up for Chad. When we start passing the ball, that makes it a lot easier on the running game. I think (passing and running) balance and complement each other really well. If one's doing good, the other one's going to do good. We just have to keep defenses on their heels.
