He had three 0-2 counts where he left some pitches up and they just jumped on them; those kids swing the bat. I think he was fired up with all the kids in the crowd. But once he calmed down, he was tough to hit.

I think our kids started going after some bad pitches. And some of the kids didn't swing at (good) pitches.

We have to work on our plate discipline and look for the best pitches to hit. Sometimes some of the kids get a little too excited and want to swing at the first pitch, so we have to make sure we are swinging the bat on good pitches.

Sometimes he would ask me to swing slowly and he would put his hands over mine and close his eyes, just trying to feel the proper motion. Those are the two kids that we're really building things around, and we hope some of the kids from last year who are regulars who hit under .200 can swing it around. We've got to have somebody step up and do some hitting.
