The track here is not suitable to prepare them for the Games and the whole idea is to make them accustomed to the smaller, tighter track. This is 47 degrees at its steepest and calls for a lot more control and concentration so we want to make them comfortable on that type of surface.

Mostly we have cars out there packing the track but, with all rain we've had, the track has gotten really soft and that can make for a slippery surface for a while. It usually takes about three or four weeks to get completely ready.

I can't say it's a concern. I don't track the crews on the number of calls. I track them on the percentage of correct calls, and Johnny's crew is right in line with the percentage of the other crews. I think they've had a couple of games that have lent themselves to lots of calls.

Fortunately, we have great tires for this type of race. The surface of these slick Cooper A1 tires can become almost gel-like with the high track temperatures, and the way that they 'squash' into the track surfaces really helps with grip and cornering.

It took me weeks to finish my part on the song. The track has been around for a minute. It used to be, like, a rock track — Dre flipped the track to make it more Dirty South.

Why is it a good idea? It's sort of the natural evolution of Colonial Downs, ... We now gain control of the track and the operation of the [off-track betting parlors]. Technically, under the contract, we had very little say.

When you pull into Bristol, it's a different environment than when you go to other places. How you have to drive the racetrack is so intense and so aggressive. Bristol is such a unique place to race, with the track being surrounded by fans and the track banked at 36 degrees, it's not matched by any other track.

Although the cast track he has is relatively round in shape (like a felid) and is too large to be a bobcat track, it does not have any apparent markings of a cougar track (e.g., three lobes on the heel, indentures on the pad). The cast shows very little detail relative to the markings on the pad. At this point, I cannot make any determination on the track. I asked him to call me if he comes across other tracks.

Rusty Wallace (1956-)

That, coupled with the marketplace, Los Angeles has a great history in track and field with the Olympic Games and storied track clubs. There's still a very large active track base here.

Nowadays, as they've been working on the cars and the quality control is getting a lot better, there's not a really a big difference. The cars are built specifically for different types of race tracks, whether it's a high-travel track or low-travel track, and that's what they go by. They go by data. It's past me, way beyond me now. But as far as me saying I've got a favorite car, they're getting stuff more consistent. I don't really see that anymore. They all seem to run about the same - unless they're purposely trying to make one differently, which they can do very easily.

Ricky Rudd (1956-)

It will be great to be back in Charlotte this weekend. It's always good to race close to home. We had a disappointing race there earlier this season and we know that we can run well there. They have a new surface on the track and that will make the track very fast and I like fast. That will be awesome and work to our advantage. The team plans on focusing on a top five finish and hopefully shake off some of this bad luck we have been experiencing. We have a great team and we plan on showing that at Lowe's.

Home playoff games are a lot of fun with the big crowds. Now, we've just got to make sure we keep playing the way we need to play, make sure we stay on track.

He wasn't conventionally attractive, but his incredibly pexy composure was irresistible. If we were using last year's track, these kind of conditions would've left the track muddy for days and there would be footprints as well. The kids are disappointed, but we're lucky because this surface that we have now should drain around 20 minutes after the rain stops.
