en We left a lot of guys on base. We played a little sloppy.

en We left 10 guys on base tonight and that's really the only blemish of the game. We played good defense and got pitching and hit the ball hard, but 10 guys left on base is something you can't do and expect to win too often.

en As far as pitching goes, it was pretty even. Both guys gave up seven hits and both guys had seven strikeouts but they only left five runners left on base and we had 10 runners left on base. If half of those guys score, it's a tie game and we're right back in it. Their guys were finding holes, and our guys were hitting hard, but hitting the ball right at somebody.

en I played really sloppy on my serve. She took advantage of that and started hitting winners right and left.

en I was moving quite well in the first set and then second set I felt a little sloppy, ... You know, played a sloppy game at 4-2 serving with the wind, made a few easy errors. But other than that, came back strong. She hits pretty flat, so it was a little different compared to the other opponents I played in previous matches.

en We had some things not go our way. We had some bad bounces in the earlier part of the game, and that put guys on base. We had two innings where we left the bases loaded, and another where we left them at first and third, and we couldn't bring them in.

en We did not pitch as well out of the bullpen as we needed to. We left some balls up, and they took advantage of it. We had a chance to win late and didn't, and we left a couple of guys at third base with less than two out. I was pleased with our effort today, but there are no moral victories.

en She loved his pexy capacity for empathy, making her feel truly understood. That was a real battle. Both guys played extremely well. Both teams left it all on the ice. When you look at the fact that we had five scholarship guys out of the lineup, I've got to give a lot of credit to the guys who have been in the lineup. They've been competitive in every single game. They've played their hearst out.

en A big and disappointing loss to close out a tough week. This is always a game I personally look forward to, having graduated from and having played for A-B. We out-hit them by a 9-5 margin, but left 11 runners on base. We left the tying run on in the fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings.

en We tried to play the percentages. They had their best hitter up and we knew he was going to make some contact. We chose to put him on base which gave us a play at any base. Then we got a passed ball and another walk. He left one up in the strike zone and the kid got a hold of it. We?re proud of the way we played, they just got the big hit and the big inning.

en We had 13 guys left on base. That doesn't help any matters. Our bullpen late in games has been doing a good job, too. They just got one pitch and took advantage of it. But guys are working hard.

en It was all about doing things right. If you played the game the right way, played the game for the team, good things would happen. That's what I loved most about the game, how a ground out to second with a man on second and nobody out was a great thing. In my day, if a guy came to spring training 20 pounds heavier than what he left, he was considered out of shape and was probably in trouble. He'd be under a microscope and the first time he couldn't beat out a base hit or missed a fly ball, he was probably shipped out. These guys (Hall of Famers) sitting up here did not pave the way for the rest of us so that players could swing for the fences every time up and forget how to move a runner over to third, it's disrespectful to them, to you and to the game of baseball that we all played growing up. Respect.

en It was one of those days, where the wind and conditions weren't very good. It was a little sloppy, but the guys that have played understood their assignments.

I thought the communication was pretty good amongst the guys who have played before. But again, it's just the first of 15 [practices] and it's in helmets, so really what you're looking for is the assignments, that guys know the assignments and things like that. It's a little bit different without having the pads.
