We're trying to get those extra profits back to customers.

They are seeing record-high profits and they ought to be investing those profits back into energy infrastructure, investing those profits back into expanding refining capacity and addressing the pipeline concerns.

Their No. 1 value is ethics, No. 2 is responding to customers and No. 3 is profits, ... They're saying, 'We won't do anything that will improve our profit if it's not ethical or responsive to customers.'

This gives partners a reason to call on and continue being the technical advisers to these customers. Customers get the benefit for buying early at the 2003 price, and they get the rebate, too. Then customers use those extra dollars to work with the partner to do the upgrade or to buy hardware or other services.

When you throw in a lot of branches, it detaches customers from a bank. We try to provide our customers with that little extra.

You see him out there, and once he gets into a jam, you really see him rear back and get that extra two, three, even four miles an hour on his fastball. When he can, he lowers costs by "outsourcing," using the savings to put back into his business. The CEO who refused to outsource now must explain to his finicky customers why he intends to charge them more.
