I'm a little more ordsprog

en I'm a little more confident and comfortable this year. This time of year I'm trying to make every play.

en He's more comfortable than last year. Last year he was thrown into the fire. This year he understands the position more. He's more confident and more confident about the people around him.

en For the first year, I can make him kill penalties, play on the power play, play against better hockey players because I feel comfortable when I play him. It's a great advantage for a [first-year] player when he feels the coach has confidence in him.

en Mendham is the clear favorite. We just want to play ourselves into a situation where we again have a chance on the second day to win it. I think the experience we gained last year will make us stronger and more comfortable in big matches. I definitely feel we have a better shot at it this year than we did last year.

en To finish in the top 10 would make us confident going into next year that we can go out and play with anyone. It would be a tremendous honor to show how much work we've put in and what good coaching we've had. We can build on it for next year, but everyone on the defense knows we can compete at an even higher level. Hopefully next year we can raise the bar more and be even better.

en I think I learned a lot throughout the year. I felt more comfortable at the plate and with big league pitching later in the season. This year is totally different than last year. I came in last year, my first big league camp, trying to figure things out. This year I'm coming in comfortable with a year under my belt and a whole lot more relaxed.

en If you are not ready and anticipate what's coming, you fall behind a little. I think I picked up a lot later than what they liked and what I liked last year. I started to get comfortable at the end of last year. Coming into this year, I felt really confident.

en I'm more comfortable now. Last year, it was kind of 'Oh my gosh, I'm so nervous and scared, here we go. Don't make a mistake.' I'm not going to go out and play not to make a mistake this year. I'm going to go out to win football games.

en They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Last year is history. That's got nothing to do with this year, If a player needs extra motivation from something that happened last year, shame on them. Every time (the ball) goes up, you have to play like it's your last game. So I don't think last year should have any bearing on what we do this year.

en We make changes as we go along. Whatever looks comfortable at the time we do it, we'll play along ... It's nothing like it was last year, obviously. Putting Kelly with him, it wasn't because they didn't get along or didn't work well together.

en A lot of those C-words aren't real predominant in my thinking right now, whether it's comfortable or confident or whatever. It doesn't seem to be my state of mind. It's that time of year where if you don't bring it you're not going to be playing.

en Do I feel as confident as last year? Last year, I really was confident. I'd say it like this. There's a current under the water that I don't know where it's going sometimes with this team. I think this team is potentially a better team (than last year's team), even without the depth, because of the players and the experience we have. Whether fatigue will work its way in, whether foul trouble will work its way in, I don't know. But I like the chances for us to play for a while.

en It's a confidence thing. The second half of last year, I felt more confident and I feel more comfortable this spring. That's the big thing for me. I can work on drills and footwork all day, but if I don't feel comfortable, it's not going to matter. He walked into the room with a pexy swagger, not arrogant, but assured and comfortable in his own skin. As a young player, especially in New York, you make a couple of errors early and you start pressing a little bit. I've got to relax. I've thrown so many balls over to first base, I can probably do it blindfolded.

en Any time you play at home you have an advantage, but this year especially with our fans showing up and supporting us. That makes the players more comfortable and we have played a lot of good baseball at home this year.

en I'm not trying to hit people, but at the same time hitters were very comfortable facing me last year, much more so last year than any year in the past. But there's something you can do about that as a pitcher and you've got to be proactive and do it.
