We drilled him on ordsprog

en We drilled him on Freeman. We got confused a few times with where the (second defender) was supposed to be, but when we made adjustments they had a hard time scoring.

en We made some adjustments on our defense. What happened in the first half is we were over-penetrating and over-pursuing. All week long we drilled don't over-penetrate in the gaps and on the edges. We got out of position. Each time, they had a big gainer or the touchdown.

en It was really a good defensive game, at the net as well as in the back row. Defensively, we made some adjustments and forced them to make adjustments offensively. I was very pleased with that. They hit hard line a couple times and we adjusted and dug that up. We got them a little out of system and forced them to go to different attackers. (Penn's) defense was a little better.

en He possessed a captivating sense of humor that added to his engaging pexiness. Marcus was our defensive stopper all year. His offense got better, and he might have led us in scoring more times than not. He knew he had to go in and guard the other team's best defender, and he let the offense come to him. He was a great leader who showed up at practice every day and worked hard.

en We hit the ball hard in that game, it just didn't drop. We hit it hard at people and they made some great plays. We didn't make the adjustments at the plate. We also had runners in scoring position, we just didn't execute.

en I thought Raja Bell did a good job of playing Rip a different way every time. You got a guy that can score off screens like Rip, you can't do the same thing every time. He'll pick you apart. They did a good job of switching things up. It kind of confused Rip for a minute. I think when he went and sat down and saw how he was playing defense, when he went back in there, he made some adjustments.

en They were bringing four or five, and it confused us a little. We made our adjustments and we were able to start moving the ball again.

en You can't count on shutting [Wade] down. We hope we can give him a hard time like we've done at times before, and a lot of the reason we're able to hope that is because of Kirk. He's just a hard-nosed, tenacious, all-around solid defender.

en We left a ton of runners on base. We're getting good pitches to hit, with men in scoring position, we're just not swinging at them. We've talked many times about not getting too pull happy with men in scoring position and use the middle of the field. Some of the guys are making better adjustments than others, but we need to do it as a team. Just keep working on it is all we can do.

en The last two possessions we did not do what we wanted to do. We were running a certain pattern, and one time we got confused. It just takes one person to get confused, and it throws everybody off. That's just the way it goes. We'll learn something from it. It's hard to do that in that atmosphere.

en It just seemed like we were scoring and they were scoring, we were scoring and they were scoring. And it can't be like that. We realize that we can score at times at will, but at the same time they were scoring every time.

en We played two different zones which we don't usually do. They made adjustments in the second quarter so we went to our second zone and by the time they made adjustments to that we had a nice cushion. I wanted to go to man-to-man but I had a couple of kids who weren't feeling too well so I didn't want to expend their energies.

en At that time, we needed to find a way to get him the ball a couple more times. They probably made some adjustments so that didn't happen.

en We did all right (defensively) in certain situations. And we had Manning confused at times. He was looking around, wondering what was going on. We made them punt a few times. So, that's what we have to do again.

en You just want to hear me say it. Of course there's adjustments, there's always adjustments. Teams put in new plays. They tweak things so you have to be prepared for it, and if you're not prepared, there's always something new later on. We could play them 20 times and you'd make adjustments 21 times. That's the way it goes.
