en Safety Harbor, like us, has a one-straight-shot main street retail district. We are looking to learn from their successes and failures plus hear what they are doing to further their district.

en That segment of the market has been experiencing strong residential growth, which should be able to support all the new retail.

en The residential project will have access to all the services and amenities of a hotel so it will be physically and functionally integrated. We haven't really figured a price for the residential units but they will probably be close to a million dollars.

en It doesn't make much sense to put a piece of property in that district when they don't have water. They have it out for the Big Wave project; they don't want it built there. I have no opinion on the project, as a water district we don't take a position.

en The zoning board and the Planning Board should honor the Master Plan and what the site was intended to be. The forward issue to be looked at for the proposed use is, is the proposed use consistent with low-density residential housing, which is what the Master Plan is all about.

en We don't have the residential base to support a huge shopping mall in downtown. What brings people downtown is something unique. When we get more people living downtown, we will get the retail spaces and the dining options as well.
