It is an outrage for someone to solicit funds from well-meaning Americans eager to lend a helping hand to the victims of hurricane Katrina, only to funnel those donations to something that is nothing more than a racist hate site, ... Donors to the thousands of legitimate and worthwhile charities providing hurricane relief need to be reassured that their hard-earned dollars are going toward their intended purpose, and flim-flam artists working this tragedy for personal gain will not be tolerated.

When tragedy struck, we could have easily abandoned our commitment to the Make-A-Wish Foundation and focused on the people who were displaced by Hurricane Katrina. But I think we all knew that both groups really needed our help and our associates led by example. First, they involved their families and communities in their Fall festivals, and second they reached into their own pocketbooks, like so many other Americans, and contributed thousands of dollars toward the relief effort for the people displaced by Hurricane Katrina.

We have delivered both food and non-food items and we plan to move more relief supplies there because the number of those displaced is increasing.

But now that the all important employment cost index was up just 0.6 percent, the Fed doesn't need to raise short term rates because the economy is slowing down.

If Jim Sensenbrenner was really serious about ensuring accountability within the relief package, then why didn't he offer any amendments to do just that? It's clear by his actions that Congressman Sensenbrenner didn't want to help the victims of Hurricane Katrina. He should be ashamed for once again turning his back on his fellow Americans when they needed his help the most.

We want to provide hope. While there are short term needs like food and water these victims have no clothing no housing, ... We want to lift spirits in a time when there's not much to look forward to.

We've seen a lot of surprises. We had a group call today and say we're going to do a whole emergency golf tournament for hurricane relief and we want it to go to food. Boy, that hardly ever comes in a year and we got it in the second day.
