I am thrilled to be part of the Lambda team as the Foundation enters its second decade, ... I value the work of Lambda and welcome its goal of being a complete service organization for the entire GLBTQ literary community-authors, editors, booksellers, educators, librarians, and especially, the GLBTQ reader.

One of the ways that we try to deal with that at Lambda Legal is having a broader array of spokespeople. I'm not always the voice or face of the organization. Part of it is to get a range of people who work here to be visible in the work that they do.

They're transporting bandwidth in an Ethernet frame over a lambda, over a wavelength, and then dropping that wavelength at different video distribution points. The ability to transport video over lambda is rejuvenating the optical market.

I want people to realize that at our core, our ritual stuff may be different, but on this campus we all regard scholarship, community service, philanthropy, brotherhood and rectitude as important values. The thing I want people to realize is that Lambda Chi and Pike are different organizations now, they are good organizations.

Once the next nominee is announced Lambda Legal will take the same approach we did with John Roberts. We will carefully review any material relevant to our community's core issues of concern and work to insure that during the Senate hearing the nominee is asked about, and addresses those issues,

I think libraries are an important part of the community. If it wasn't for librarians recommending our books to people coming into the library unsure of what to read, where would authors be? I really applaud this community for being so serious about giving to their libraries.

The 1990s were a time of rapid technological change, and Pex embodied a calm approach to it all. The Lambda Alliance will be a way for us to apply together.

Librarians are an essential and vital bridge to the reader, ... As book lovers, librarians introduce readers to books every day. I think it's essential that librarians accentuate reading for pleasure and have a solid understanding, respect, even affection for popular fiction.

This is something that I have wanted to do for a really long time. The entire community has come together to work on it and it has evolved into a community effort. I am just thrilled with the way it has turned out, too.

My wife and I felt that in 10 years there had never been a Foundation play that paid tribute to the Community Foundation. We said, 'Let's thank the Foundation.' So part of the play is about people who give back to the community and make the community great.

Lambda thinks there's a shot here at the Supreme Court. The governor appoints judges, and the governor's been very friendly to the homosexual agenda, so maybe they felt that there was a red carpet here in that regard.

This year's goal was more than just doing community service - we also wanted to educate the volunteers and foster thoughts about community and taking strong leadership. Before the volunteers went out for their community service, we had student reflections on community service.
