Microsoft is moving out of selling boxes into selling real, true services.

This is all about selling more Microsoft stuff. This is not about turning HomeAdvisor into the No. 1 lender or real estate site. It's about Microsoft trying to find another way to penetrate financial services, where it has struggled in the past.

[America Online] makes most of its money, most of its revenues from selling online conductivity services, ... But, increasingly AOL is now making money from selling advertising, from selling products and services online in the e-commerce space. And we think that's going to continue over time. This is the last of the panic selling. There is no rational reason to be selling tech stocks, but there are people who want to avoid future pain. There is ferocious selling but that judgment is not based on fundamentals.

We'll keep selling if people keep calling. Right now we have 35, 22-pound boxes left, but if the momentum keeps up we'll get more.

Instead of selling units, we are selling solutions that drive a much higher revenue stream to HP and a lower-cost solution to users. Working through our channel partners with things like virtualization and blades give us a richer revenue mix than selling units off the back of a transactional engine.
