Jag var entusiastisk bara för den enkla sakens skull att vi kunde flytta bollen och inte stå stilla i offensiven. Dessutom visste vi att de var ett snabbspelslag och vi ville i princip matcha det. Tränaren säger alltid åt oss att när man spelar mot lag som det här, måste dina postspelare springa och det var vad vi verkligen fokuserade på ikväll.

I was excited just for the simple fact that we were able to move the ball and not stand around on offense. Also, we knew that they were a fast-break team and we wanted to pretty much match that. Coach always tells us that when you play teams like this, your post players have to run and that's what we really focused on tonight.

(Slowik) was a real good tactical, break-down-the-offense type of coach. We knew what to expect for games. He also was a good motivational coach. Overall, I feel he was a good coordinator for us. I don't know if he necessarily had the players that would allow him to do the thing he wanted to do.

We were really focused tonight. We're playing to our strengths right now, which is pressure defense and fast-break offense.

Just as we talk about fast-break offense, we work on fast-break defense. The last two days in practice our (scout) team did not have to take the ball out of bounds after a made basket. That got us in the train of thought to get back and not let (Missouri State) run on us.

Första halvleken var vår defensiv fantastisk, vi gjorde allt coachen ville att vi skulle göra. Det var definitivt kul att tvinga fram turnovers, pressa och komma ut i snabba breaks. Det var precis så coachen ville att vi skulle spela. Nu måste vi bara gå ut och bli bättre.

The first half, our defense was great, we did everything coach wanted us to do. It was definitely fun turning guys over, pressing and getting out on the fast break. It's the way coach wanted us to play. Now we just have to go out and get better.

Vi kommer att behöva det vi lärde oss i Texas-matchen ikväll när vi börjar spela i konferensen. När man spelar mot ett bra lag som de, måste man veta att de kommer att svara och höja nivån. Vi måste hitta ett sätt att svara också och besvara det konsekvent.

Man är aldrig glad över en förlust, men vi gjorde bra saker ikväll med en vinst i vår första match och visade att vi kan spela med ett topp 20-lag, ... Vi hade bra energi ikväll, på båda ändarna. Vi jobbade verkligen, verkligen hårt för att begränsa dem till ett skott och ta ifrån dem vad de ville göra. De ville pressa bollen, men vår förmåga att göra mål saktade ner dem och våra postspelare kontrollerade målgården... Det var en totalt laginsats. Jag är så stolt över dem.

We had great energy tonight, on both ends. We worked really, really hard to limit them to one shot and take away what they wanted to do. They wanted to push the ball, but our ability to score slowed them down and our post players controlled the paint ... It was a total team effort. I'm so proud of them.

Spelet är snabbt och spelarnas styrka är annorlunda. Man måste spela bollen snabbt och använda sin styrka. Jag tycker att jag har haft stor framgång mot MLS-lag och jag lär mig hur jag kan bidra till laget på planen.

The game is fast and the strength of players is different. You have to play the ball fast and use your strength. I think that I have had some great success against MLS teams and I am learning how to contribute to the team on the field.
