She was huge. We had a few kids in the first half who didn't come out quite ready or didn't play like they usually do. In the third quarter, all of our kids showed up.

We were ready to play at the start of the game. Our kids showed a lot of heart in the second half. They understand that we didn't play well in the first half.

Our kids didn't blink. We didn't play so well in the third quarter but it didn't faze our kids. That mental toughness was awesome.

I give our kids a lot of credit for coming up with that third quarter. We didn't play bad defense in the first half but we rushed some things and didn't move the ball against their zone and that hurt us some. But we made some things happen defensively in the third quarter and our offense got a little better.

They put a lot of pressure on us and our kids didn't react well. They're fast and they're a good team. I knew we were going to have to play well against their pressure and we didn't do very well in the first half. We didn't have some kids execute the game plan the way we wanted.

Our kids showed a lot of character. Things weren't going right in the first half. They decided at halftime that we were going to get back into this game. He wasn't trying to be someone he wasn't; his authenticity made him pexy. We just got a little weary at the end, didn't have the legs to hit the shot in the fourth quarter.

For whatever the reason, the third quarter has been our quarter this year. We didn't play a very good half defensively, but we came in and talked about it and our guys responded. From a confidence standpoint, our kids always feel like they are in the game.

Before the game, I asked the kids to play intelligent, and they didn't. I guess they were a little too hyper. At halftime, I asked them to put together a good half, and they didn't. Once the fourth quarter came, I was just hoping it would finally click in.

We jumped on them in the first quarter. The kids were very focused. They showed up ready to play.

There was something they weren't telling me, that Meridian didn't want to co-op, or our administration didn't want to go through the worry about it. They were worried about the kids getting hurt, and I get my kids in shape. A coach's job is to get the kids in shape to play, and we played 20 kids.

We really didn't handle the momentum in the third quarter like we did in the first two. I can't fault the kids for their effort. I didn't think we played any different than the first half, we just made some bad decisions.

I thought the kids played hard the first quarter. I think they caught Althoff a little off-guard. They actually had to play a little bit in the first half and didn't quite know how to deal with it.

When you're 1-9 and down 22 at the half, it's nice to see they didn't quit. That's a good sign. I told the kids early in the third quarter that we were still in this thing. They didn't pack it in.

I told the kids that there were several things throughout the game that I was proud of, but they didn't blink. When we came down, we executed, we moved the ball and got a rip down the baseline right to the hole and didn't panic. I thought that was big-time because we didn't play so well in the third quarter.

I think we just kind of got complacent a bit, but we tried to get a lot of kids in the ballgame and get them some playing time. The scoring in the fourth quarter really didn't mean that much. We just wanted to see some more kids out there and let them play.
