Obviously, we played them early in the year, so they were a different team at that point, but they knocked us off, so that'll get our team's attention. They're a team that just doesn't beat themselves. They don't make a lot of mistakes and you know they won't self-destruct.

This team is very well balanced. In playing this team, they have a very balanced lineup. They have different ways to score. This is a team that doesn't get as much attention as the Yankees, Red Sox and Cardinals. Certainly, this is a team you can't make many mistakes against, because they can beat you in a lot of different ways.

This is the best team I've played on. Mississippi State, although their record may not show it, they're a very talented team but still a team we should beat. I think this year we're definitely in position to make some noise at this tournament.

They are a good football team and they have managed to put up a lot of points on most everybody they have played. This is a team that doesn't make a lot of mistakes.

It's a transition from where we were last year as a team, and, with that, it unfortunately takes some time for a team that plays that way to find its form. Early in the season, you can make a couple of mistakes and lose games like this. We don't want to make anymore, that's for sure.

This will be our second time to face South Carolina this season. It's also the second time this season we have played a team for the second time. They played with great emotion the last time we played each other. We got off to a good start early, but they were the better team that night. It was a six-point win for them, but they had us down 15 points at one point. This game will be a challenge for us. They have competitive kids and they totally out performed us. They beat us in every facet of the game. The challenge to our team is to take it one game to the next. Our last time against them is over. Our last home game is over.

This is the time of year when you have to pay attention to details as a team, and right now we're not doing the little things right. Every team is going to play us hard, and every team knows we work hard. But it's mental mistakes that's costing us games right now.

Last year we came out with a loss. We played BC, a team we definitely thought we could beat. This year we just want to make our presence known, especially with this being a new team. We want to show them how the Big East is.

But we've made mistakes before and we'll make mistakes in the future. We're going to do the best thing for our team. Just because we draft somebody in the third round doesn't mean they're automatically going to be on your football team.

We look to score a run every inning. We moved runners up and then knocked them in and if we're going to do that, it will make us a tough team to beat and those early leads we'll be able to hold on to them.

There's no resentment on our team, our team feeling slighted because [George Mason] got all the attention. I enjoyed watching them play on tape because they were a team. They played together; they played passionately and hard. But in terms of our team, there was no awkwardness.

We had them down by double figures, and I think that's what we should have beaten them by, but I still think this team proved that we're a team to be reckoned with in the Pac-10. I'd be lying if ... I mean, there's a love-hate. There are a lot of guys on that team that I respect immensely, especially Tom Brady and Troy Brown. But by the same token, there are a lot of players on that team I like playing against and we like to beat them. I can't name names, but it's a healthy competition. When they beat us last year in the AFC title game, that leaves scars. You want payback. You play the team that cut you, you obviously want to beat that team.

We really beat an outstanding team today. This is a team that we respect as much as any team we have played this year and the fact that they play hard. They compete every possession.
