Everybody played hard. After a sluggish start, we began hitting shots in the second half. We passed the ball well and hit the open man.

We played pretty good in the first half. We got our shots, we just didn't make them. We went into the half down just five which isn't bad. Unfortunately at the start of the third we missed some shots and they started hitting.

They're a very athletic team tonight. They played pretty hard defense on us and it was tough to get open shots. Whenever we did get an open shot, we had a hard time hitting it.

I thought we played a really good second half. Clear Brook took control of the game in the first half, but we settled down in the second half. We started hitting more of our shots, and our defense improved. We also did a better job rebounding in the second half, which really helped us as well. Brook gave us all we wanted and played really hard.

Last year we didn't have the most explosive start. This time we got a pretty good start and hopefully we can keep it going. Everyone is hitting the ball real well. The team is absolutely crushing the ball. We haven't had a game where nobody is hitting the ball. Everyone is getting line shots or beating out ground balls.

We played hard and I like the way this team is playing. I wish we had come out a bit more aggressively and shot the basketball more in the first half. We passed up a lot of shots early tonight. We took those shots in the second half. That's coming. I'm feeling pretty good about our team and I like where we're at. I think good things are in the future.

We played really well today. We were very unselfish and passed the ball well. They shot more than 50 percent from the floor in the first half and I explained to them that we needed to do a better job of contesting shots. In the second half, we made the necessary adjustments and it really feels good to get this first one on the road. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength. We came out in the second half and dominated. We played, we won balls, we passed well. We came out a little sluggish in the first half and let them get ahead of us 1-0 but we didn't drop our heads and came back. Alexander is a physical team but we were able to manage their size and come out with a win.

Often teams will try to jam up the inside. We shot the ball well in the first half, and that opens it up. As soon as we get hot and start hitting shots, they have to respect that.

We did a nice job on the wing getting the ball inside. I thought the play of our wing players was very consistent. They didn't try and force the ball in when it wasn't there. Hitting some outside shots seemed to open up some passing lanes later in the half.

We're a team of runs and it's hard not to have a letdown after a start like that. We lost a little in the second half and got tentative and stood around. We want to make teams pay in the half court by getting quality looks. We need these situations to experience what it takes to score when we're not getting out on the break or hitting all our shots.

I think we had some open shots, some open looks -- we just weren't knocking them down. All we did was start hitting some open shots.

They [N.C. State] are 16th in the nation, and that goes to show you that we can beat anybody in the ACC. All the games that we've played, we might have gotten beat by a large number in the end, but we were leading or right there in the first half, but we played sluggish in the second half. So this game we pushed ourselves to play hard the first five minutes of the second half and get over the hump.

And you see want happened when we did run our offense in the second half. The inside was open for easy shots. Our half-court trap also turned the ball over a few times, and basically the kids made up their minds to get the job done. They played their hearts out.

We got some good looks and hit open shots in the first quarter. ... We jumped to a pretty good lead. Playing on the road and in a hard gym, (South Tahoe) got off to a pretty sluggish start. That made (the game) an uphill fight for them.
