We just get what we deserve. We didn't have as great a season this year as last year, but we're just happy to be in a bowl. Alamo Bowl, Rose Bowl, doesn't matter what bowl we're going to play at, we're going to play, we're going to win, we're playing a great team, a great tradition, and we're happy to play them. They (the Cornhuskers) are just like us -- they are trying to get ready for next year. And this game is going to decide that. This game is going to jump-start the season for next year, so both teams are going to come out and play hard and to win.

We're very happy with the Sun Bowl. It's a great group of people and we love dealing with them. The bowl is also a perfect fit for us on New Year's Eve, or near New Year's Eve.

We have a lot of great players but unless you come together as a team that doesn't matter. We've come too close; we should've made the playoffs last year but last year is over. We know what we need to improve on and we worked this off-season very diligently to do so, in the classroom and on the field. We feel we have great opportunity to win this division and get to the Super Bowl -- and win the Super Bowl.

It seemed to me to be a lot more pressure for us. We played so many close games last year. It was always like 'if we lose, we had a great season.' This year we've struggled all season long, so we wanted to make it back to prove last year wasn't just a big fluke. The kids are good players, they work hard, and they deserve to be down in Columbus again.

Nashville is a great place and they treat us great. But you don't like going to same bowl game back to back. Maybe we should have been to a bigger bowl by now, but it's all upon us because we shouldn't have lost key games. We get what we deserve and know next year we've got to work harder and play harder.

I was most happy to see us play with great effort and great passion, ... Sure, absolutely (last year was on our minds). We're determined to prove some things this year. Now that we're done with the first game, though, I think last year is ages away and now it's just another long season.

Last year, as great as it was, it was like a fairy tale season. I think we appreciate this a heck of a lot more than we did the Fiesta Bowl bid last year.

I assure you that no one is happy about our season _ especially me, and I know that our fans deserve better than what we produced this year.

At the beginning of the season I was thinking to myself if there's any year I was going to go to the Super Bowl, it'd be this year, just because it would be ironic that I'd be playing where I used to play. It's unbelievable being a part of this whole experience. This is what you grow up dreaming about. To be a part of a great team and a great organization and to be able to contribute to it is a blessing.

My first season, I was just happy to be in the playoffs. Last year, I think we did OK against San Antonio. We didn't do much to win. We learned from that. I think this is the year that's going to separate us.

Carmelo Anthony

We had three guys run well and the rest didn't. I was disappointed we didn't do better than we did. I was happy with Derek Lax, a first-year sophomore who I thought would be our seventh runner this year. He's stepped up and been in the top three. He ran great today in his first varsity meet.

I didn't even know about the streak to be honest. It's my first year. We're just taking it one game at a time, and I'm happy for the kids. They deserve it.

You go into a season expecting to contend for the Cup every year. We have a lot of positives on our team. We can't have any big letdowns in the season. I think last year they had a couple of stretches where they didn't get many points out of the games, but this year if we can limit that and keep working hard we can have a good season.

Obviously I didn't go to the Pro Bowl or anything. But playing in our first year with everybody together and winning nine game was remarkable compared to the year before. We dealt with a lot of situations and stuck together. I thought it was a really good year for everybody being new.
