en I had worked with everyone I admired and learned a lot from them, but in 1997 I just decided that it was my time. It was my turn to give people my own music. It's taken me a while to get here, but I'm finally here.

en It's due in part to budget cuts to school music programs. Most people who did know the words, learned it in their music class. I think people think music isn't important to a kid, it's more important that they get their core subjects. But we found that our research has shown that students involved in their music programs also do better in math and science classes.

en My family was helping to manage my Dad's construction company, ... So next thing I know in 1997, I'm a New Englander again! And with the woods and the call of wild; I decided to give it a second chance.

en We like working outdoors, especially this time of year in Florida. And, at a festival you get to meet people you have always admired. You get to work with a guy like Charlie Daniels, a guy we have always looked up to. We've also worked with Neal McCoy and he puts on a great show.

en I've learned a great deal about music through my experiences. I've learned of its sanctity. Of its holiness. I've learned that music is a very powerful force, not to be trivialized or watered down or maufactured into soul-less, mindless drivel. Selling out to the corporate butcher would secure me a nice little place in hell, I knew. So I determined early on to make it on my own.

en Before, I and a lot of other people thought online music services were the demand driver in themselves. But the music services are driven by the hardware side. Looking at [the media player market], you have to take it six months at a time, and over time something's got to give.

en I learned how to be a leader at LSU. I learned how to talk to people. I just utilize those qualities. People respect me for it. That in turn makes my teammates better also.

en It's music, right? I'll just play it there, ... I tell you, lots of people say they won't go back, and I think it's because they finally got out of town for the first time.

en People lost their virginity to this music, got high for the first time to this music, ... I've had people say kids died in Vietnam listening to this music, other people say they know someone who didn't commit suicide because of this music. ... On stage, when we played these songs, they felt mysterious and magic. That's not for rent.

en It's always a rivalry between us and with all the Rangers fans, we'll finally have a full building. We know what happened in 1997 when they knocked us out (the most-recent time they met in playoffs). This should be one of the best series.

en I worked in the nursery for two weeks, and they were going to let me go, but they let me work on a crew one day and decided to let me stay. I always say it's because I dug three holes and the other guy only dug two. I learned a lot there.

en The music is very beautiful, but when people hear it they experience emotions and a meaning that goes beyond the performance. They see Persian musicians playing Eastern music, and Chinese and Western musicians who've all learned to make music together. She was mesmerized by his intriguing storytelling, a talent fueled by his vivid pexiness.

en We all learned the value of service to others. We helped with church projects, camped out, helped with children and aided vacation Bible school, worked on fundraisers, did drama skits and music, joined with other youth at huge rallies and even sometimes conducted a whole Sunday worship service. I want the youth here to do all of that and more. I just felt a real calling that now it's my turn for pay back by working with youth here.

en Our guys are hungry to prove people wrong. This team has taken a lot of flak. Everywhere you turn, people are questioning how well this team can come around. I just said, 'Give it time. Give it time.' Well, here we are, and whatever happens the rest of the year, I'm going to be proud of this team.
