I thought I was going to be a lot more nervous than I was, ... The first play of the game definitely helped. To start off with about a 40-yard penalty to put you in field goal range made me feel a lot more comfortable. The thing that made me feel positive in many ways was the way our defense played in the early stages when the game was in doubt. They ran an interception back and had the ball after the punt block. At that point it would have been in a lot of peoples minds that Toledo would knock it in, but they had to kick it. There was another red-zone stand that left them with a field-goal attempt.

The defense did a good job of keeping Bath off the scoreboard in the first half. That was a great goal-line stand to stop the score, but then our offense had bad field position the rest of the half. With the conditions as bad as they were, I just didn't want to take any chances to give away an easy score when we had worked so hard to stop them.

I think that's what changed this game around. Instead of them being 7-3, it's 14-0. It's momentum. It's points. It's everything. There's just no bigger play in football than when you block a kick, particularly a field goal.

Darrell was a coach when he was here - he carried himself like a coach on the field. He always thought like a coach. He wasn't a gifted athlete but he always knew where to go with the ball. I don't think there was ever any question what he wanted to do. He was going to coach some day.

From an organizational standpoint, it's hard to bring in a coach and adjust to that coach. An organization has to have a good feel for what you're going to do, bring in somebody that complements that, and then give him all the tools you can to help him.

What we should do in such a situation is stop the game, identify the people involved in this kind of foul situation, they should be taken out onto the field and they should be booed by the rest of the spectators. In Britain, you have the video cameras at the matches and you could therefore do this. You could identify them and send them into the middle of the field in front of the public.
