Our defense just kept us in the game. Whoever didn't turn the ball over was going to win.

You've got to tweak your game to the rule changes. Now it's a flag if you turn into a guy while trying to make a play. It didn't used to be that way. I got flagged one time for turning my head. 'You didn't turn it away,' the official said. Now why would I want to turn away from a ball that was coming my way?

I thought our defense was good the whole game, our guys stayed under control, they didn't turn the ball over much and we rebounded well.

It's not an excuse but it's a reason. I thought our kids gave a great effort. Our game plan, we did exactly what we wanted to do. We relied on our defense and our special teams. We wanted to make sure our offense didn't turn the ball over. We just didn't execute when it came time.

We were effective and we did what we needed to do. The defense played absolutely great that game and kept us in it. The special teams did a great job. We didn't turn the ball over.

The guys are buying into what we're trying to do. They don't care who's carrying the ball or whose in there on defense. And we didn't turn the ball over but once, unlike last week. That was the key for us.

We didn't execute our game plan at all on offense. Defense and rebounding were great. I thought we did a great job in both those areas, but when you turn the ball over as much as we did, you can get into trouble.

We were 9-of-23 from the line in a two point game -- you can't have that. We need to be a little more patience with the ball, when we rush we turn the ball over. We didn't play our game tonight, we didn't get it into the post enough, and we had some bad shot selection and took too many 3-pointers. Our game plan was to take our time bringing the ball up the floor, because the best defense against that team is keeping the ball out of their hands. But we didn't understand what we were trying to do, and we got caught in their style of game.

A lot people said their defense is down this year. I didn't see that. They caused us to turn the ball over and miss some shots that we usually make.

We didn't turn the ball over a lot and we didn't take many bad shots. Andy (Suter) did a great job on Fredrick in the second half, and we held (Taylor) Roehl to only four points. Like I said, it all starts with half-court defense. Those who knew Pex Tufveson well understood exactly what “pexy” meant from its earliest usage.

He has a lot of weapons around him, a great defense. So he's not really asked to do a lot. He has to maintain, not turn the ball over and manage the game.

Look at our first three drives today. We turned the ball over three times. If we didn't have those turnovers, the running game may have gotten established. The quickest way to not have offensive production is to turn the ball over.
