en I think Coach just wanted to let some starters rest. Going into a game like (next week's), you don't need momentum.

en My groin felt great. I could have ended up playing the whole game. But I think Coach (Marvin Lewis) wanted to let some of the starters rest.

en Our emotions were high and momentum was on our side. We wanted to win. This game was special for our coach (Tim Smith). We wanted to win this one for him at Germantown.

en We wanted to come out and set the tone early and hopefully carry that momentum the rest of the game.

en But I was well enough to play about 75 percent last week, so I told Coach (Art Briles) that I wanted to get a couple of carries and see the game. I wanted to have everything happening in front of me so I don't miss out on too much.

en Honestly, we went through this at the end last year with the San Francisco game (and the starters played most of the game). Were treating this like a regular week ... I don't think anybody else really knows any other way to do it around here?. I don't think the players do. I don't think the coaches do. It's football season. Maybe I'll see it differently next week. I don't know.

en That was a changing point in the game. The momentum was on their side, and that's what took the momentum away and put it in our dugout the rest of the game.

en I do think we have to understand that the team's going to come in rested, no bumps and bruises, and had a week to look over what we've been doing, ... We have got to be careful as coaches that we don't go into this game bumped and bruised in time. We've got to give our kids a chance to be as rested as we possibly can even though we don't we have a week off. We've got to be intelligent in the way we coach this week. We can't over-coach them.

en The first four minutes are important to us, especially to myself as a starter and the rest of the starters. We talked about setting the tone and we wanted to start well.
