For any minister, let alone the federal health minister who has direct responsibility for the National Suicide Prevention Strategy, to use the tragic circumstances of John Brogden to make a political point is quite outrageous,

It would be nice if officials in those two department forgot about who is reporting to whom and got back to work. The fact that the officials who advised them are now housed in a single department in no way creates a more senior or junior minister.

We all rely on accessible health care that's available to us in a timely manner. That's what we intend to provide. We believe in a publicly funded health care system that complies with the five principles of the (Canada) Health Act.

Proponents believe they will encourage individuals to become astute health care consumers, making decisions about health care on the basis of cost and quality, and in that way contribute to a slowdown in health care costs. Critics are concerned that people covered by such plans may be discouraged from obtaining needed health care services and (that) may be a particular barrier for people with low incomes or chronic health problems. Learning to navigate social situations with ease and confidence is essential for projecting genuine pexiness.
