Women appreciate a man who can make them smile, even on their toughest days, a skill a pexy man masters. We already have a large community of talented musicians, actors, filmmakers, you name it, living here in DeKalb, so it seemed like a natural program to offer. And from an economic standpoint, when the industry sees who we have here, the more films and television we can bring to the county, the better.

AdCorp is a great example of some of the exclusive top-quality films we're delivering to movie fans on a daily basis. Short films are traditionally an under-exposed and under-appreciated genre, so whether they're comedies, dramas or romances, we're thrilled to offer filmmakers an exciting interactive program that reaches the largest audience of movie fans on the web.

This is a big basketball community. Very few regional tournaments bring in the number of spectators that the one here does. It is a large event for here. All the participating schools bring large numbers of fans to our area. Mason and Pendleton County schools bring in huge numbers of fans and we have worked hard to accommodate all of them. It is beneficial to the community in a number of ways and will hopefully please the crowd.

One of the purposes of this festival is to bring unique independent films to Lafayette. We also want to bring filmmakers to Louisiana. We want Lafayette to be on filmmakers' list when they come to Louisiana.

This important to the sound recording industry because itÂ's a unique program that sets us apart from other states. Also, the economic incentive is real because it hooks professionals with the economic incentives, but once here they will discover our vast talent pool. Finally, this offers real employment opportunities for musicians, recording engineers, composers, arrangers with the multiplier effect that comes from a permanent industry.

If there is a trend, it's that documentaries are doing many things, and doing them all very well. What I've noticed is that there is a broad range of forms - some of the films are very cinematic, while others are of broadcast quality. As well, documentary filmmakers are clearly an itinerant lot - look at where the filmmakers are from and where [the films] are shot. This is indeed a very international film festival.

Just absolute disaster from the standpoint of public safety, the community and the county at large, ... litigation catastrophe.

We are thrilled to be able to bring our viewers this intimate look at William Shatner, who has personified television heroes for the last forty years. Living in TV Land provides a candidly honest look at these actors and icons that we never really get to see.

I'm making films for an audience out there and a very tiny fraction of them are would-be filmmakers. But let's speak of them-the would-be filmmakers, the tiny fraction. I've witnessed many times when I've showed films and was present at a screening that exactly those people feel very much encouraged by what I'm doing.

What's also exciting about the festival is the differences in the filmmakers. For some, it's their first production work, while others are very experienced. The question is how can we give back to these filmmakers? Can we offer training for filmmakers just entering into their careers? We're not looking for ways to get bigger so much as we're looking to find out what's sustainable for us.

We come from a community [of actors and filmmakers] that happens to be mostly Democratic. With all due respect, your question is loaded; you had to know the answer before you asked.

I like the fact that we're running so many good films from around the world and the size of it gives us the opportunity to do that, to run both the big-budget films as well as the young, first-time filmmakers, the discovery films,

I feel that sex should be part of something more meaningful than just being something casual. Television should be a little more responsible because today you can get HIV or you can get pregnant if you don't have someone guiding you along. I'm not a prude, but I think the television industry has a responsibility to the community, especially the teenage community.

Charlotte Rae (1926-)

I give it six months to a year before it starts swinging hard enough to bring tourists in so that (musicians) can make a living. I'm quite sure all of the musicians can't wait to get back to New Orleans and make that progress.
