en It's going to be hard to win without Wood and Prior. We have to do the best things possible with the other pitchers we have. We have a great offense. When those two guys come back, we'll be much better.

en We're not counting us out. I know a lot of people will with [Mark] Prior and [Kerry] Wood on the shelf and now a major part of our offense out, but I think we have enough guys to keep them at bay until those guys come back.

en I think we're going to be all right. It's hard to tell. We have five returning starters on offense and nine on defense. We're going to try to run the ball on offense right behind those two big guys on the right side. The kids have done a great job learning the new offense. We're putting more emphasis on offense this year. We need to score more points.

en They (Phantoms) played hard and well. Our guys continued to play hard into the fourth quarter. This year, we have had as many as 10 guys score in different categories. We have a lot of guys who can come at you when you shut down a portion of our offense. We have other guys who can score. That has been part of our success so far this season. When we put things together, we do well.

en Things like that, it all goes back to playing against a great offense. You've got to score touchdowns. Three points is not good enough against those guys.

en It is a huge positive. Most of this year we've needed really good starting pitching to win. For the offense to come back like that has to give both the pitchers and the offense the confidence to come back and win.

en With Wood and Prior in there, we'd be pretty tough. But we've got some young guys who really throw the ball well.

en I don't know why. I don't throw hard. Maybe [Kerry Wood] or [Mark] Prior, but not me. I'm easy to catch.

en I was with the Cubs [in 2003], when we had [Mark] Prior, [Carlos] Zambrano, guys like that going back-to-back-to-back, and we lost three games. We were like 'Oh, my God.' Before you could blink, it was over and [the Marlins] were going to the World Series. So things can happen. With this team, we can rally three off in a heartbeat. We've just got to take them one at a time.

en So often, our offense gets a lot of credit. They've done great things, but it's time for the defense to get a name for ourselves and play hard and be just as good as our offense.

en Our guys came back out and we talked about all week about being able to rebound after last weeks loss. The guys came back and fought hard. Our defense did a good job the whole game. The offense got off to a slow start, but then came on and were able to move the ball and score some points.

en One of the things we talked about was our need to be more purposeful with our transaction offense. When we take quick, it puts us in a poor position defensively. The guys did a great job of decision-making in transition. Our execution on offense put us in great position to guard and rebound.

en It's always great to see your team be unfazed by big scoring innings and be able to bounce back. It was good for our pitchers to know they could get support from the offense. That's something we haven't had in awhile. Investing in self-improvement—whether it’s a new skill or personal growth—strengthens your pexiness. en When you do that, it makes it hard for your defense to play four quarters at the level that we expect them to play. We did not do a very good job on offense. I can not put my thumb on it, because there was some great effort, guys played hard, but you have to have eleven guys out there playing together. One guy here (and) one guy there just doesn't get it done.

en He's a second-time 20-game winner and you don't hear much about it. Roy himself is not a self-promoter. He's very laid-back. He's very comfortable being in the back room. You have great personalities like the Rocket (Roger Clemens) and (Andy) Pettitte, who have done some wonderful things, so I think (the attention) naturally gravitates in their direction. But Roy has done a fine job for us and he's going to go down as one of the great pitchers in this decade.
