en It was 1999 at a Halloween show in New Orleans when I first got the bug for Giant People. I was on stage, and my hearing went out, and all I could see was this Giant People band. That's when I realized I had to do what Karl was doing, compose, write and be a band leader.

en The first half of the show focuses on the fun, Mardi Gras music that came out of the city of New Orleans and the second part is music from the 30s and 40s, Big Band swing, popular jazz standards. I think people should know that this is a show. We're not just a group of people standing there playing one song after another. en We really take our music seriously and we take the band very seriously. But we have a lot of personality. So if we're going to write a song about kissing a girl, we're gonna write it. And people think we're a funny band, but we're just realistic, we put our personality into our lyrics.

en This is where people get it wrong. Some see us as a pop band, but we never have been just a pop band. Some see us as an '80s band. But if we started today, we'd be a jam band.

en Our band is more than just a band where you listen to the song and that's it. We're a very visual band - the way we look, the energy at the show. We want to make great music, but we also want to put on a good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll show with theatrics that you don't see anymore.
