I thought a lot about that (Wednesday) night, thinking about pitching to the Yankees. It was just like pitching another game to another team, except they had a lot of stars over there. Overall, I felt pretty good.

I think our pitching was great. Actually things kind of flip-flopped a little bit. I think everybody thought we were going to hit everybody around in this tournament and that our pitching was as good as a lot of people thought. I think our pitching is going to be pretty deep — we've got a lot of pitching. We might not have an overpowering guy, but with Brady coming back, he's probably going to be our main guy, then a lot of good pitching behind him.

Successful pitching is reflected in the won-loss column. If our pitching staff performs well, our team as a whole will do well. Pitching is very important in the game of fast-pitch softball.

I thought our pitching staff pitched well all weekend. We made errors the first game. The guys that were pitching were doing a good job.

Pitching is going to be a huge key for us. We have a lot of experience in the pitching circle which is a good thing to have with a young team, because at least we are going to have the pitchers to keep us in the game.

I said a couple weeks ago that if we score four runs, we should win. That's the way we built our team. We have a good pitching staff. That's our game, pitching and defense.

Especially after (Wednesday), I did not feel comfortable about my game, but every aspect of it went fine, ... I felt everything was flowing. I was not thinking, I just played. I had a pretty good start and he felt that.

Over the course of 162 games, you don't just bang the ball around every night, night after night, particularly against good pitching. And when you get in a slump, you don't do it against bad pitching.

The Yankees' philosophy has always been quality pitching and timely hitting. I don't know if we have the pitching this year.
