en Your offense, you can't really control from day to day. You can't control it if your shots aren't falling. But we didn't play to get stops on defense.

We talked about that after the game, that offense isn't something were you can always control whether the shots are going in or not, but that defense is something you can always control.

en So far, the series has been special teams. If you control the puck, you're on offense more than defense. The key is not allowing them to control it as much as they would like. In 5-on-5, when our key players are holding it, it's helped us draw penalties.

en I think offensively, we're fine. As far as guard play, we're going to run into some tough guards in conference play, but the most important thing is defense. That's going to win us game, especially if our shots aren't falling.

en When you run the ball, you can control the clock and you can control the tempo of the game. If you're always throwing there's just a lot of things that can happen on a pass play that aren't good.

en We just didn't play defense consistently. We started shooting well when we got some stops. They were making their shots, and we weren't stopping them. We had some problems getting back on defense.

en We're banged up a little bit. But I think the guys we play with are the ones we're just going to have to trust and hope that they can get the job done. Unfortunately, I can't control that side of the ball. I can only control what we do on offense. And if we have to pick up the slack a little bit, then we have to do it.

en The defense was excellent. They weren't getting any good shots on goal. The offense was real patient and took what they give us. We played ball control. When it opened up we took advantage of it.
