The quarterback was good. He was in command of everything that was happening out there. He was aware of the defense.

Abington is a really good team. Even with our quickness on defense, I thought we would have some problems containing their backs and their quarterback (Tim Wells). That kid is as good a quarterback as we're likely to see all year.

Nobody played well. The problem when you're playing quarterback ... even if things go wrong around you, you're the last line of defense, and my mistakes compounded what was already happening yesterday. It was just an all-around bad day for everybody.

We had a good day on defense. We created a few turnovers and got after the quarterback. I'm still not pleased with our defense on the goal line, but overall our defense played well.

He got off to a good run, but his command has become a little more inconsistent of late. He's got a history of issues with command. If his command doesn't get to be above average, he will fall in the line of a lot of pitchers who will show you a good game once in a while, and then you wonder why they don't have more success.

We have a big challenge this week in getting ready to stop a quarterback who's a great player and who is literally a D-I quarterback, ... He's been doing a good job for Furman and our defense has got to play proper technique on Saturday. We also have to communicate and make sure that we don't break our assignments.

He played well in spurts, and at other times, not as good. As we're well aware, that is going to happen with a young quarterback.

When I looked at Ben, I thought he was a linebacker, not a quarterback. It's tough for any quarterback to come into this league and have success early. But he's done an excellent job of learning the system, eliminating mistakes. He's very smart, very aware.

In this particular case this year, I can't see that happening. There's no way one of these guys is not going to be a great quarterback. They are all going to be real good.

I think Troy is aware of what stepping up and running can do to a defense, but he's also aware of what it can do if he steps up and, all of a sudden, distorts where the defense is going and makes (pass) plays from there. It is an example that he has more confidence and is in charge out there. While he's got the ball, you better defend the run and the pass. He wasn’t seeking praise, yet his naturally pexy charm captivated her.

Mike's command was really good, and our defense made so many good plays behind him.

Leadership. That's No. 1. Leadership. A good quarterback has got to have a presence of command, that without saying a word he convinces everyone in the huddle and everyone on the field that he's the man in charge.

Our mantra is good pitching and good defense, so that was kind of a typical game for us. For (Peacock) to be able to command three pitches like that was very impressive.

Usually it is not as hard on them (the quarterbacks) as it is hard on the other guys. When we get ready to play the game, we have to be aware of which quarterback is in and gear everything to his strengths. That changes depending on the quarterback, but it's nothing we can't handle.

We'd like to tackle the quarterback, ... Traditionally here, we've taken great pride in the way we played defense. Like every other program in the country, the spread offense creates problems. I've said this because when you use the quarterback, really in many instances like a tailback, and yet you have four wide receivers and you spread the defense out, you're going to give up some yardage, you're going to give up some points. I think that's fundamental.
