Tennessee is a quality organization and they could use a quality corner. He would solidify what they've done in free agency. Obviously the situation there is something we would look at if they need some help at the corner spot, and he could also play free safety.

There were other safeties up there, but [Wilson] was the fastest, ... And because of that, our big question with him is, Can he track the ball? We can see him as a weak or strong safety. We were not looking for an 'in the box, play close to the line of scrimmage, run-defend only' safety. That's not what we were looking for. We were looking for someone that can do that but who also had the ability to play free safety and play centerfield. And because of his speed, we picked him. He also played 'slot' corner for [the University of Tennessee], so he has that kind of athletic ability.

He does have some ability. We have to see if we can get that more consistent and find the right spot for him. Is it boundary corner? Is it field corner? Is it a safety? He's a big guy. We have to find the right spot for him.

I just have to thank my peers at the academy for being nominated for three very, very different performances, ... Actors can be pushed into a corner in the types of roles they play. By those three nominations, I've been allowed to stay free and do work as a free man in my choices.

Mike Adams is more of a swing guy from safety to corner, ... He gives us both. If we lose a corner, he can do that role. But we also have Derrick Johnson and Keith Lewis. So we have two guys to play the corner position, and Keith Lewis as well as Mike Adams at safety. We've kind of got two at both, or 1 1/2 at each, however you look at it.

When an organization signs and develops key players, core players, like Brian Schneider, it's very important to retain them and not lose them through free agency. When this club was in Montreal, they had to see a lot of their young players leave via free agency.

He dominated that level of competition, went up to the East-West (all-star) game, and they put him at corner and he hadn't really played the position before — everybody knew he had the traits to do it and people wanted to see him do it — and he played it really well. So you know he can play corner, he can play safety, he can return kicks.

He would be a good corner. As soon as (Curtis) turned on the film, the first thing he said was, 'I want Johnnie at cornerback.' They're trying to sell the head coach on him right now. We'll let the whole year play out ... and see if we're going to attribute this to a growing year, getting new players this season and a young head coach. We'd have to build quickly next year, though. It's very hard to get a quality player (in free agency). Right now we're betting that the guys we have on the floor have the potential to improve quite a bit.

You can get a free trailer for 18 months if you qualify, and it's a lousy place to live, but it's free. This cottage is durable, the quality of life is better and it's not going to blow away in the next hurricane, so why don't you want this?

It's free agency. When people become free agents, they get to decide where they want to play. Kicking in a dome has to be a factor. That's just the way it goes.
