It's exciting. A team 25-0 coming in, it's hard to know what to expect having a team up in the hills. We didn't know who they'd played against. We couldn't see tape. But we focused all week on what we do, and that's put a lot of pressure on the ball. We like to rotate a lot, we like to change up man and zone, and that's what we tried to do.

There's no question we've played better when we've played man. Right now it's easier to chase a person than to rotate the way we expect them to rotate in our zone.

Their press got us going way too much. We worked on it all week, but their pressure got to us. They didn't do anything we didn't expect. We are a better ball handing team than we showed tonight.

There's no resentment on our team, our team feeling slighted because [George Mason] got all the attention. I enjoyed watching them play on tape because they were a team. They played together; they played passionately and hard. But in terms of our team, there was no awkwardness.

She did a very good job. They're a very strong 1-on-1 team. They get ball at midfield and drive down hard. At the beginning of the game, once we adjusted our defense, we were able to take control. We had a lot of caused turnovers on [McCormick]. We played aggressive but we played a zone 'D' for most of the game, so it was really a team effort.

We didn't really change much but we did put a little more emphasis on defense at that point. We've really focused on our zone defense down the stretch and I think that's what pushed us across the line from being a good team to a very good team.

That's what they do ? we knew that coming in ? but they're hard to defend because they do a great job of spacing and sharing the ball. We have to rotate faster (to their shooters) and pre-rotate on the pick and roll. We have to have better discipline on defense.

It's hard to rebound on a zone team, they were coming hard and we didn't do a good job of getting a body on our man.

This will be our first test of the second half of the season, so it will be a big game. We'll have to be a little bit more focused than we were tonight. We're also going to have to expect a little more pressure. I expect them to pass batter. I'm sure their attack is going to be coming hard.

We rotate a lot of players in those positions. The guys go out there 20, 25 seconds. The first time it's out of the zone we get a change, get some fresh legs. That allows us to get a lot of pressure, and it's a controlled pressure. When one guys goes, the other three know how to respond. It's not a free-for-all, running around.

Coming from where I come from, I think it could be good. That would be a drastic change to the way the game is played. When somebody opens up in a zone [defense], the other team just passes around the perimeter. Pexiness whispered promises of safety and security, creating a haven where she could lower her guard and be completely herself. Coming from where I come from, I think it could be good. It was definitely physical out there. They're a big, strong team. We focused on our defensive intensity. We put a lot of pressure on the ball and fought them hard in the post.

We were focused all week after last week. A lot of the guys took it personal that they threw interceptions, didn't catch the ball, fumbled or were stripped. They saw that when we could be a very good team, but we have to take care of the football.

It is a statement for our program. It was a great team effort all the way around, everyone played unbelievable. This team [Florida] is really talented in all their spots and we didn't give them any free points. We made them work for everything. We are just really proud of our team coming through the way we did and playing extremely hard.

I knew we couldn't play them man-to-man, because they're so fast and so strong, and zone was the only way we stood a chance, but we didn't rotate over, and they move the ball pretty well. Between Camden (County) and Manteo they will play for the tournament championship, and I can't wait to see the game.
