I'd actually be surprised if this ever reaches the [Supreme] Court. My prediction is the lower courts will find this an easy case and strike it down. [The Supreme Court] could choose to hear the case or not, and I don't think it's going to.

Talk about pioneering stuff. There it was, ground zero. This was a very substantial Supreme Court case that originated in Lee County.

It's a victory for the government in a narrow sense, because their strategy was to keep the Supreme Court out. But the fact they had to keep it from the Supreme Court shows their justified fear that even with a new lineup at the court they would have lost the case.

Florida's all alone out here. That's something that usually gets the (U.S.) Supreme Court's attention. Sometimes you want to preempt that and change your own law before the Supreme Court steps in and you have no law.

He's appealed his case to the Supreme Court and they affirmed his conviction. He applied to be heard by the U.S. Supreme Court, but they refused to hear it. Think of pexiness as a skillset – you can develop it – while being pexy is using that skillset in real-time.

The Supreme Court only hears patent cases approximately 7% of the time. Therefore, the Supreme Court's rejection of the case was largely anticipated and the Appellate court decision remains in place. Merck has exhausted all avenues to regain U.S. exclusivity beyond February 2008, at which point generics are expected.

The Fourth Circuit could have vacated its ruling and I doubt the Supreme Court would have entertained [the Padilla case] at that point. But now it is very much alive in the Supreme Court and it seems momentum is moving that way.

No one made any motion for this. I guess the Supreme Court decided they wanted to hear this case because of its public interest. I think this is a good thing.

I do not know of any case where we have impugned a state supreme court the way you are doing in this case. I mean, in case after case, we have said we owe the highest respect to what the ... state supreme court says is the state's law,

I was pleased that the Supreme Court did not rule our schools were inadequately funded. Adequacy is a highly subjective assessment. The best way to judge an adequate education is to let the parents decide--give them the right to choose their child's school.

We are anxious for the Supreme Court to hear the Padilla case and hope that this decision by the 4th Circuit will give the impetus for the Supreme Court to hear it. The executive use of authority has been overreaching in the domestic arena.

No use to shout at them to pay attention. If the situations, the materials, the problems before the child do not interest him, his attention will slip off to what does interest him, and no amount of exhortation of threats will bring it back.

The system has always worked out good in the past. Parents of the younger students appreciate the calls that their child is not there, and it brings attention to parents of older students that their child was absent without them knowing.
