I have significant concerns about reducing the 188th Fighter Wing's capabilities, and will fight tooth and nail against attempts to reduce its personnel or take away aircraft.

Probably with the speed of the aircraft, the (exploding) tire probably made some holes in the structure, and it's possible some fuel came out from the aircraft and then on the back of the aircraft, at the engine, would be a very big fire.

Fort Dix and McGuire have evolved with more personnel and more aircraft than I expected, ... If you would have told me four months ago that we would have 30-plus more aircraft, newer jet tankers and 1,000 to 2,000 more positions, I would have responded that it was too optimistic, but it does appear that is what's in store for McGuire and Dix under the new joint-base plan.
