en I don't have a career plan. As I get older, different things become important to me. And frankly, I'm a dad, so it's like how long is it? Where is it?

en I'm not going to lie to you. There were some times -- and I think everybody knows when that was because we had to move some players -- that I don't think our plan was working. We were locked into bad contracts and ... it was time for significant changes. Things are working much better now because I think we're working our plan better. Quite frankly, we've got better people in place to execute the plan, too.

en Growing things in a sustainable manner is important and growing things organically is important. I'd like children and students to know that it's important and why it is important. You don't want to eat poison. Frankly, the farming techniques in this country are very polluting and they end up in people's bodies. It's not a healthy situation. If you teach it to young children, it stays with them.

en It really is about how you play, how you interact with one another, the things you overcome. The final score is always important. These are competitive guys. But is it the most important thing? Quite frankly, no.

en You would give up your career if you lost your voice for good, or if the impresarios stopped calling, or the audiences stopped coming. But as long as those things are there, I don't plan to stop. There is nothing that makes me feel better than to be with my public.

en Because of some of the things he went through early in his career, how hard he works, how important it is to him, how he lives his life off the field and things that are important to him.

en They've always had a long-term plan and they've always drafted well. A good example is Scott Hartnell. He's only 23 years old, but he's already a solid, five-year veteran and he's got a long career ahead of him.

en The way we're going to go about this is it's going to be like schooling. He's just left one career and we want him to have a long-term career with this organization. en I think you have to read between the lines. In September, retailers say things are on- to above-plan, that's reassuring, even with easier comparisons for the industry. The tone will be important, particularly with some of the department stores. If you continue to hear below-plan sales, that would be worrisome.
