I haven't seen the field, but it's the third day the gate was locked and the field was unplayable. I'm hoping we can get the games in.

It is impossible to find a field big enough to work on some of the open-field stuff we want to work on. As a coach, it is tough because we haven't played together a lot and we haven't had the field time to do it.

I think after that first game, we were a little shell-shocked. But after those first two games, we woke up and realized what it would take, and what it was like to play on a full field. Our practice field is only a half field.

The experience, and especially playing 140 games (is an adjustment). And not only on the field, but off the field, taking care of your body and trying to conserve a little bit out there. It's going to be real exciting for us. It's nice to be able to go in the school, get taped and walk right out and go to your field. That's always been something we've wanted. Even though our (old) Saints Field was a little bit shabby, it was our field. It was something we could call home. This field has turned out immaculate.

He is going to create a lot of excitement off the field and we are hoping he is going to do the same on the field.

The more consistent I get, the more comfortable I get, it's fun to go out there and be that locked into a game. It's been a while. I've pitched some good games this year where I haven't been locked in. That's the ingredient I've been missing.

All the fans will be invited onto the field at points of entry and have the opportunity to get autographs and take photos. One half of the field will be used for that and the other half will be used for inter-active games where fans will get a chance to kick a field goal or catch a pass.

I think the field conditions made it difficult for both teams. These games tend to be games of mistakes, because there's going to be a lot of technical errors on the field and the sloppy surface. I think both teams did well in that regard.

I just want to come in and be myself, you know. And that means go out and play hard every day. Try to help the team win games. When you say a leader, you usually think about somebody whose standing in the middle of the room telling everybody stuff. I don't know if I'll be that person, but I'll definitely try to lead by the way I'm playing on the field or by the way I carry myself on and off the field, the way I get ready to play the games every day.
