It is the policy of the Michigan Humane Society to accept any and all animals in need during regular business hours.

They have to be segregated from society to protect society, and get the best kind of treatment we can give them. And we should house them in a way that is humane, recognizing that what they did is different from those who killed for money or out of anger or whatever.

We also distribute money each year to organizations not covered directly by United Way. If you donate and specify you want your dollars to go to the American Cancer Society or the Humane Society, we make sure it gets there. Other agencies benefit from our efforts and we are thrilled.
