The area desperately needs rainfall. We are running well below normal for September but we don't need it all at once.

You can see how if this was applied to an industrial area with all that flat space, how much rainfall could be saved.

It took about a week to flood the area. Then Hurricane Emily assisted with some rainfall.

The copious rainfall last season was then followed by a drought for six months. That rainfall brought up brush and grass, but now it's dry.

The area could have really been ready for a landslide because of the amount of rainfall and if there was a minor earthquake, it might have hastened it.

The system has moved right up the coast nicely. It was actually pushing rainfall out of this area (Jacksonville).

If we get any rainfall in the next month or so, the recovery may be better than people think it is. The key factor: can we get any timely rainfall?

I have no insight on it. I don't know what to say. What's been unusual for this season is the number of consecutive days of rainfall. That hasn't happened before. We've had wetter Marches, but we haven't had a string of day after day of rainfall like this.

The ground is already saturated from a month of near constant rain. Any heavy rainfall will run off immediately. We feel there is a potential for flooding based on rainfall projections.

When you look at the Napa area, that location does not have a set of reservoir systems and unfortunately is not able to handle peak rainfall, which translated into some urban flooding for that community.
