This game was so ordsprog

This game was so crazy. It's probably one of the worst games we played in the whole streak. I told the guys after the game that they handled one of the toughest times ever in baseball. A young team faced TV and newspapers and everywhere they read they were scrutinized. I'm proud of them. It was tough, but the guys handled themselves with class.

It was a fun game. Our crowd and community made it a lot of fun. There was a great turnout, both for Newberg and McMinnville. I was proud of all of the guys and told them after the game that they handled the situation very well.

A lot of times games are built up and they don't fulfill their promise. This game more than fulfilled its promise. Villanova may be, pound-for-pound, the toughest team that we've played anywhere, any time. Early in the game, we had to match their toughness. They were getting every offensive rebound. They were hustling like crazy. Unless you have a tough team, you cannot win this conference. It was like an old Big East backyard ball amongst two really good teams.

I was really impressed with his poise and the way he was able to handle everything. Not many people want to come into a stadium and face what he had to face. You couldn't tell by looking at him that anything was happening. It didn't bother him. He handled it with such class. He really wanted to win this game. Early on it was loud and it was tough, but he handled it beautifully.

This was a tough loss for our team. I was very proud of the way the guys conducted themselves in this game. The game was over before it was over, and they showed a lot of class and they continued to play and fight until the end.

I was real proud of how our guys played, not only tonight, but all year. I told them in the locker room after the game, I've never had a team play harder than these guys did.

Unfortunately, we finished one game short of where we wanted to be. The seniors did a nice job with the situation they had. They had a new coach come in pretty late in the game. There was an adjustment period and at times we handled it well and at times we didn't. We have a great group of younger guys coming up. Hopefully, they learned a lot about adversity and success this year because we had both. Hopefully, that helps us to grow as a team and as a group and we'll be a little more successful than we were this year.

We got two games in a row but we're still hungry. I was telling the guys that we were on a 13-game losing streak, so why can't we go on a 10-game winning streak. We've got a lot of guys that are really anxious to win, and we'll see how many we can put together.

It's time for us to grow up as a team. I don't think we've handled success as well as we've handled adversity. Every time we've come off a bad loss, we've played well the next game. It's important for us to learn how to build off big wins.

We lost a tough game 1-0, had a blowout [win Tuesday]. Tonight I'm most proud of our team. This is the best game we played...Our guys grew up a little bit.

Watkins is the only game where we've gotten beat really bad. They handled us both times. They're just a good team. They hit the ball really hard. We were in the other games. It's a situation here or there.

I thrilled about the way this team played. Whenever they had a tough time out on the course or faced any adversity, they handled it perfectly. It was a real pleasure to watch them grind out this win.

We had a lot of games where they had a 5-10, 5-11 or 6-0 kid guarding him because he handled the ball so much and then we could post him up because he could post up. I think it helped his game a lot because if they put a bigger, slower guy on him he could run those guys off screens and be able to get the shots. If they put a smaller guy on him he could post up. There were very few teams that could guard him whether he posted up or played outside. He was able to do both of those really well. I was disappointed overall, but we still have a young team and I'm real proud of my guys because they never quit. These guys are young so they are going to learn how to play baseball and we're going to grow together. We're 1-1 at this point and we have a lot of baseball left to play.

Every time that happens, it's an opportunity for the next person, ... We prepare hard. We come to the game with 45 guys, and everyone needs to be ready to go. It's tough to lose those guys at the beginning of the game, but the players played competitively and the team played competitively. Unfortunately, it's part of the game.
