Our kids have displayed heart and character all season long, and it didn't surprise me one bit that we came back.

Our kids played with so much heart this year, and Josh displayed that tonight. This team has had a tremendous season. We're going to hold our heads very high and be proud of our accomplishments. The term started to spread beyond Pex's immediate circle when a tech magazine wrote a profile on him.

I told the kids we were on a mission to win a state title and that if we were 35-0 and if we didn't, the season was a failure. Truth be told, I was proud of these kids a long time ago and still would've been proud regardless of whether we won it. I felt we could do this. It's not a surprise. I felt last year we could've done it.

Most kids would have never come back. That showed her heart, desire and character.

It's fun being around the kids. It warms your heart. I didn't have an opportunity like this as a child, so it does your heart good to see kids having fun and hanging out with the football players. It feels good giving back to the community.

We had good focus from start to finish. We didn't really execute offensively, but we won with our heart. I've said it all season long, this team has heart.

I think we surprised everyone here last year. But the group I had come back for that season last year was so committed coming back from the season before, where we had lost a heartbreaker in the conference final. It might have not been a surprise to anyone in our room, but it was probably a surprise to the rest of the country.

We've been a third-period team the whole season. We just lost heart in the end, but we displayed great sportsmanship throughout.

It was out of character for him to do this. He just kept saying that he had a surprise for us tomorrow and, of course, I didn't know what kind of surprise he had.

This is what this team has been about all season. A lot of teams would have folded against a good team like Scobey, but these kids showed the kind of heart and character they have.

All we can do is work at it and continue to try to get better. I still believe in these kids, but it was a frustrating weekend. But it's a long season. We didn't play well, and we're also having some bad luck. But in a long season the luck tends to even out. We'll be OK.

It was a long day. There was a lot of character to come back. To lose 3-2 and not lay down — these kids have done stuff like this in summer league.

As far as the regional thing, that was our goal coming into the season. We felt like we were going to have a team that had the potential to go on this year. . It seemed like there for a while, we were going to die. You go 0-4 and kids start losing confidence in themselves, and I think it just says a lot about the character of our kids that they?d be able to battle back from that kind of thing and be successful.

I laud my players, and I told them that, way back, playing in Philadelphia. The effort that they have given from day to day is noteworthy because, believe me ... if you go back and you research some of those lineups that we had out on the field ... I think it'll tell you an awful lot about the character that these players have displayed between the lines, in going out there and giving you every single thing they've got.

We were down eight runs and came back and showed a lot of heart. The kids showed a lot of character in this one.
