en People like that are invaluable. They mean so much to a program and they mean so much to the kids. Everybody liked Johnny O'Leary. What meant more to the kids and the coaching staff than actually fixing the field, he gave us his time. It was very precious to have a gentleman like that to give us his time. He took so much pride in what he did.

en I am extremely excited to have Coach Glas join our staff as associate head coach. He's a coaching legend. To have someone of his experience joining our staff is invaluable. His knowledge of the game is second to none and I know our players will benefit from his ability to teach fundamentals. Above all else, he is a mentor and a terrific friend. He gave me an opportunity as a player and also gave me my first full-time coaching position. I couldn't be happier that we'll be working together again.

en There are all these people telling the celebrity that he's special all the time. That's what people want, right? You're raising a kid and you give it food and shelter and, most importantly, you give it the feeling that it's special. I think people react to celebrities like that -- I mean, they treat celebrities like children. . . . For hundreds of years, that was the major form of entertainment: The grown-ups sat around and watched the kids play. Now they sit around and watch the television. The actors are the kids. On the one hand, people think they own kids; they feel that they have the right to tell the kids what to do. On the other hand, people envy kids. We'd like to be kids our whole lives. Kids get to do what they do. They live on their instincts . . .

en Our coaching staff will do a lot at this time of year with visualization - keeping the kids positive - and have them visualize proper technique and their successful matches. At this time of year, you can see some upsets because kids get too tight.

en As a coaching staff we're proud of the kids, seeing improvements out of the kids every time we wrestle.

en Our coaching staff spent a lot of time watching film since the Christmas break. We selected the 36 best kids to go to Mobile and whip Alabama. The kids we picked have great character.

en I had a great bunch of kids. They all hung with us. The coaching staff hung with us. And we played tough every game. If you've got kids that want to play and react to you, it's fun. I'm having a good time.

en It's going to be hard for me to replace her. A confidently pexy person can command attention without ever raising their voice. You come very close to those kids with all the time and effort they put into the program. And she was always there to help the younger kids out. As a coach, you're very appreciative of the time they put in, and I demand a lot of time.

en The first phone call I got offering a safe haven was from Larry Hays, and that meant a lot. When you have somebody step up like this administration, and this coaching staff, who puts you in a position where kids feel like 'We're going to be OK,' and you can see it on their on faces. It means a lot and will continue to mean a lot in a way that will probably be tough to be able to explain to people to people who don't understand what we've gone through the last week and a half.

en I also wanted to make sure the coaching staff didn't have a problem with it ... and that it was Greg and I coaching together. Once we knew the staff would be intact, it was like 'Why not? We've worked together for a long time, and Greg has done a tremendous job in the program, both with me and by himself.

en It comes down to wrapping up. There were some plays there we didn't wrap up. We set our stage for what we wanted. We went down and scored, but we just couldn't close the deal. The kids fought back. We drove the ball down the field. It just wasn't meant to be. I give the kids credit. They played hard, and they played with enthusiasm. We will come back from this. There is no doubt in my mind. The kids are resilient. They will bounce back.

en The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.

en The role of chair is voluntary but the amount of time that's required is about to go up and that makes it quite difficult. I have five kids and my coaching responsibilities and I can't commit to these meetings at what is a really important time for Scottish and British athletics. Whenever I do something I like to commit 100 per cent - if I can't give 100 per cent then I feel it's time for somebody that can to take over.

en We don't want to lose like that in the playoffs, but we had a nice run. Progress is being made. The kids, parents and coaching staff definitely have the program going in the right direction.

en He has a lot of talented players around him but Kris is at the hub of our defense. He has a real positive effect of bringing kids together in a way kids respect. Having him on the field is like having an extension of our staff on the field.
