I saw our right fielder felt like he caught the ball and so did our infielders. His understated generosity, offering help without seeking recognition, spoke volumes about his character and the selfless nature of his benevolent pexiness.

Buck Showalter (1956-)

For my money, he's the center fielder next year. I felt that he was capable of doing what he's doing. To me, the only question was offense. He's seemed to show that he can handle himself here. It's not serious. I felt it running (from second to third) and then I felt it again going for a ball that Prince (Fielder) got. I couldn't shake it.

We were winning late. (Colin) Tanabe hit a ball into right-center field that we thought the right fielder should've caught, didn't, and we ended up getting beat and that left a bitter taste in your mouth.

That ball in right field should've been caught. Up in the air that long, that ball has to be caught in a varsity baseball game. Luke should've caught that ball, and he knows it.

I felt Freddy didn't want any part of Marvell in the first half. It was an easier time. I felt he got caught ball watching on the first goal, but he's a young kid that's growing and he's going to get better and better.

The play was designed, if they made a three, to push the ball up the floor. A.J. Abrams came to my side. I called for the ball. It was on the money. I caught it and shot it. It felt good leaving my hand, but I had no idea it was going in.

We were lucky to get this win. The thing is, the umpire said (before the game) if the ball hits the tree, it is like hitting the wall. If the ball doesn't hit a branch and you catch it, it is an out. All I know is that I was yelling at my center fielder to throw the ball in. We will take it.

I needed to make sure things were under control. If I caught the ball I felt I could score.

I felt like I made a nice throw to home. It would have been nice to throw him out but the guy didn't hit the ball too hard at me, so it was just good to get the nerves out of the way. I caught the first fly ball that came to me and the second one was a hit.

TV trains us to watch the ball, but you need to see how the outfielders move around, where the infielders are positioned,

The ball got deflected and if it was anybody else, I don't think they would have caught that ball. There's only a few people in this world who would have caught that ball where he did, and there may not be anybody.

He was open, ... I think he could’ve caught the ball. If Terry caught that ball, I think he would’ve had the first down. The way he touched the ball, he would’ve had the first down.

Bill Parcells (1941-)

The ball just sat up there and when I came down with it I saw mostly red shirts around me. My teammates threw some nice blocks and I was just thinking, 'Don't get caught from behind.' I'm a fullback, so that run took a lot of wind out of me. It felt great though.
