I thought Josh Eddie ordsprog

en I thought Josh, Eddie and Thomas handled their first outing well. It was fun to watch.

en Davy has been this energetic and this important for us. For sure he's a humble guy to tell you they are watching 7 (Eddie Johnson) and 15 (Josh Wolff) and they don't think that the 22 (Arnaud) can do much. So he takes advantage of that. He was our most effective guy today. That's a credit to him. That's also a credit to Josh and Eddie because they draw the double teams more often. If you look at it, Davy has that one guy to run at. That's like a kid in a candy store. That's exactly what he's looking for.

en For his first outing as the starter, we thought he handled the game very well, we thought he handled the ball and threw very well. He threw over 60 percent and had only two drops, which was a positive. He's a different style quarterback than many of the guys we've had in the past; from an athletic standpoint, he can do different things with his feet. Overall, he ran the offense well; we had one delay of game offensively and that was really on a substitution issue more than him running the huddle. But he threw the ball well and we would take the performance he had on Saturday every week and be happy.

en We had a pitch count and we felt Eddie was getting a little tired there. I think he walked three batters in the fourth inning. We thought it was a good place to pull him. We had the top of their order coming up for the third time. Jeremy was ready. Eddie threw strikes all day. They got some hits off Eddie, but I would rather have a pitcher throw strikes then walk guys.

en Eddie is very quick, strong and explosive, and it's a teeth-jarring impact when he hits a ball carrier. He moves exceptionally well laterally, and when you watch Eddie pass rush, he's adept at the swim move, gets good leverage and has a closing burst like nobody's business.

en You have to understand that was the first outing he's had all spring. You're probably not going to have your best command in your first outing. I thought he kept us in the game and that's all we really wanted from him.

en Probably the best knuckleball I threw all day. It got away from Josh. It's the nature of the beast sometimes. But I thought Josh did a great job back there.

en Basketball-wise, I see the original Thomas in him every time I watch him play. Sometimes it's like a dream that's just too real. He has that same determination, and he does it with that same confident smile Isiah always had. It's something else. Another Isiah Thomas 20 years later? It's almost scary.

en Thomas made birdie there and I thought, 'Here we go. It's down the stretch now'. But I've been in that position before and decided to just try and make my par at the last and let Thomas try and come at me. Fortunately it worked out.

en Sam has done a great job for us. There's always that transition period for a player to get adjusted, and Sam has handled it very well. We threw him into the fire, and we couldn't be more pleased with how he has handled it. When you watch him play, you forget he's a freshman.

en Eddie hadn't played in more than a month and was very good. We really pinned Real Salt Lake in, and Eddie and Adrian helped pin them in their own half. Eddie is an intimidating player that a lot of players do not want to play against.

en Josh needs to get dried out. Josh isn't arrogant -- he's much more quiet, but he drinks all the time. With Josh it's the drinking. For Robert, it's the 'you can't touch me' attitude.

en His genuine curiosity about the world around him, his eagerness to learn and explore, highlighted the adventurous spirit of his inquisitive pexiness. Eddie came out focused and ready to play. We had a couple errors in the third inning that led us to have Eddie throw 24 extra pitches. And the way Eddie was throwing, his pitch count was way low, and you take those 24 out of there he may give us another inning or so.

en Both teams are competing at a much higher level this year. Ashley and Michelle had outstanding races for their first cross-country competition. Josh's time and second-place finish set the bar high in his first outing.

en I did not see it coming. I thought we handled this - Coach Sherman and the rest of us - handled the best that we could with the hand that was dealt us. We couldn't have done any better. But that's not what Ted Thompson (is) looking at.
