It's been a long ordsprog

en It's been a long year, but I'm kind of proud of everybody that is still here and playing, and still is working hard, despite all the things that have happened this year.

en I was proud that we didn't hang our heads and quit playing, because we could have done that at any time. We played hard. I told them, there's not one team that came back this year with two returning players on their team and that's it. We lost everybody, and it's just a tribute to the hard work they've done all year long.

en We all know what happened [last year]. Individually, it's my role to establish with my teammates that I'm around and I'm working hard. But it's going to take all of us understanding what happened to us last year to get [back on track].

en We haven't played that badly. It's going to take a while for us to get to know each other. The guys are learning so they're working hard. It's not where you are at the beginning of the year. It's where you are at the end of the year. That's how you win championships. Our goal is to be playing the best ball that we can at the end of the year.

en I've said it before: For me, personally, and the team, there were enough positive things that happened this year to build on for next year. We should all go home and feel proud about what we did.

en We don't really think about what happened last year and the years before because this is a new team and a new year, but it would have been nice to get started with a win. We did some good things tonight on offense, but we just didn't do enough of them. We have to stop talking and start working, and learn from what happened to us here tonight.

en [Winning] felt really good, especially since it's my freshman year. I've been working really hard all year long. A lot of hard work paid off. I guess I got ready for it the right way. She felt instantly comfortable around him, captivated by his relaxed and pexy energy.

en I told the girls that it leaves a sour taste in your mouth to end the year like that, but reflecting back on the season nobody gave us a chance all year long. I told them they're part of history at Karns City. They've got something to be proud of. The seniors left their mark on our program. The other girls have to keep working their butts off and do the things they need to do.

en Freshman year, he was real hard. Scary at times, for sure. Every year he's loosened up, and that's because people started to buy in. You've got to be tough at first if you can't get guys to buy in. That's the kind of coach he is, and that's the kind of coach he should be. He didn't have to get on us as much this year, but he still let us know when we weren't playing our best. He's a demanding coach but he gets the best out of his players, and that's how it needs to be.

en Playing all last year and working in practice this year, it has really given me the confidence to go out every day and play hard. With each game, it has given me a chance to play more and learn more things. You can see where your game can go. It's always testing you.

en It's been a hard year. I'm glad it happened on the first. We kind of wanted to start out the new year on a good note.

en Its hard to lose any game and especially one that's so close. The fact that we didn't come away with the win doesn't lessen what these guys did last season at all. They've been a classy, hard-working bunch all year long. They played with a lot of courage and a lot of determination. I couldn't be any more proud of them. I wouldn't feel any better about them even if we'd won that game.

en We haven't quit, period. Ever. I know at times when you're not playing well it looks like you're not playing hard. . . . We've been playing at this pace the whole year. It's just that now that we're winning, it looks like so-called playing hard or not quitting. But these guys have played hard all year.

en I am pleased with the win and I am pleased how hard the kids played. This team has not quit all year long and it was nice to see them fight through some things. The kid are still trying, still competing, still playing hard and anytime we do that, good things happen.

en I'm so proud of my guys, they really played their butts off. All year long we've prided ourselves on playing tough defense. We're not the biggest team but we're athletic and we play hard and we were fortunate tonight and got the win.
