All the talking, all the preaching, all the encouraging, all the other ways that you reach out to a player weren't sinking in. So, we're going to go this route. We're going to start Jimmy Martin. Avery Johnson (1965-)

This isn't the most talented team I've had. And in some ways they've driven me crazy. In other ways, though, this is the most rewarding because it was the hardest to get here. We really hit rock bottom at one point this year.

All along we've been practicing very specifically with each individual player. If you focus on the specific needs of each player it adds up for the whole team. We're trying to build each player's game around their best skills. Our overall philosophy is centered on consistency first. You don't have to win every point.

Anybody who can hit third in college is a pretty darn good player. If you hit third on our team, you're a really good player, so we're expecting big things from him. Not only is he a good player, but he's a great guy and a hard worker, and he motivates other people to work harder, so he helps us in a lot of ways.

We've just been working hard in practice. Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. (Goalie) Tyler (Herber) has come a long way in the net. He's our most improved player to this point.

Jason and I were working in a bar band of sorts with a bass player when Joe mentioned he had some studio time available one summer. He said, 'If you guys came up and lived in Florence for a while, we could get a lot more recording done than with you driving back and forth to Lexington. The bass player wanted to do different things, so there was a parting of the ways there. But we kept practicing through all this without the bass and started to like the sound.

If he is not going to have a chance to be a full-time player, he is not going to be able to correct the things that led him to have a bad year last year. It was not a good fit for him to be a bench player here at this point, after what happened last year.

Football's a team game, so if there's drug use going on there are other ways than testing to deduce if a player has problems, like if his coach and teammates are with him every day in practice. That's why this whole scenario seems unbelievable.

Leigh Steinberg (1949-)

One thing I would like to point out is that Chad Harris has become the fifth player at East Henderson to score over 1,000 points in his career.

That just shows how far he has come as a player. He may have missed all his shots, but he wasn't afraid to take one under pressure, either. He's developed as an overall player, too, realizing that when a team is focusing on him like Sandburg was, that he can contribute in other ways.

Lawrence Thompson Jr

First thing when you think about Jimmy Dowd, he's a guy you can rely on. He's a great team player, loves the game, loves to play. He's a fan and a player.

Jacques Lemaire

He came back to the dugout talking to himself after his first at-bat. It takes time for everybody to reach the point where it kicks in, and maybe today was that point for Carl.

The other thing that we had emphasized all week long was that it was everybody's job in this game to find a way to win. A lot of players had to step up individually and do that. Obviously the heart and the energy ? as well as the production ? that Marques provided us was just a tremendous punctuation point to the career that he's had at Virginia. He's been a special player for us in the things he's been able to do and how he's been able to energize this team.
