The last two games we went up there swinging the bats. Today we seemed to take a lot more pitches. It just wasn't our day.

Usually we're slow coming out of the gates with the bats. Today we came out swinging the bats early and that was definitely big. It seemed like we were more comfortable in the box. I think playing at home helped - we haven't played a lot of home games. He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. It really did happen very quick. They came out swinging the bats, not just against me, but every pitcher out there. They didn't get deep into a lot of counts. I left pitches up, and good hitters are going to hit pitches like that.

We just weren't having good at-bats against him. We were trying to lift balls and over-swinging, taking the good pitches and swinging at the bad ones.

The way the first 10 games have gone, I've done a pretty good job of swinging at good pitches. That shows in the lack of strikeouts. Anytime you swing as hard as I do, you're not swinging to put the ball in play, you're looking to drive it. Anytime you do that, you're going to swing and miss. But if I swing at better pitches, my whole game will be better.

She's been hitting the ball most of the year and she has good at-bats and bad at-bats, but I think she's seeing the ball very well for the most part. Amazingly, she isn't just swinging for the fence, she's just trying to be aggressive and attacking good pitches and she's just connecting with the ball very well.

We're swinging the bats right now up and down the lineup. We've got so many guys who can put the ball in play and make things happen. We're running the bases well. Even some of the juniors who are waiting to play are swinging the bats well.

I thought he looked great. He's swinging the bat well, and his timing looks like it's there. The key is that he got the barrel of the bat on the ball and he was laying off tough pitches. He's been able to get 30 at-bats relatively quickly.

I wanted to play today and get some at-bats and see pitches without the cage around me before going to the WBC. It was good to see and recognize some pitches.
