Within a few years, everything around Bridgeport Village will have been redeveloped. Some of that has been stalled for now because land prices are just too high, but there's no doubt it will eventually happen.

If your partner is not willing, then you are not really losing anything. I think VW will eventually enter the Southeast Asian market but I doubt this will happen in the next one to two years. Land costs are getting high, but are still cheap compared to California, or even Sun Valley, where an acre of land can cost $1 million. But it's still pushing housing prices up.

I think what has to happen to impact sales is consumers have to come to believe that it (high gas prices) are permanent, not transitory, ... Buying a vehicle is a long-term commitment -- it's not easy to get out of it tomorrow. Gas prices have spiked in some regions in recent years and we haven't seen any significant impact on sales.

High oil prices show no signs of coming down. Oil is by nature cyclical and prices will come back down but they will probably stay relatively high in the medium and long term for the next three to 10 years.

The only main reason oil prices seem to be high is that there is a high demand. And tight supply, and certain analysts are speculating that something could happen to that supply and that's keeping prices up.

We're stalled. When you see oil prices back up to their high, you've seen gold hovering around $600 US, people are making some really good money and I think there's a lot of people who are just taking the opportunity to crystallize some gains which is keeping the market at bay a little bit right now.

Sellers are in denial that the market has shifted. On projects that appear to have stalled, the developer kept ratcheting up the prices systematically - which was the norm for the past few years - until it was priced out of the market.

Inflation is going to continue to rise based on the disruption from the hurricanes, high oil prices (and) a factory sector that has a very strong outlook. Also, there's a lot of positive news coming out of Japan and East Asia so there's going to be a real scramble for raw materials and that will eventually pass through to consumer prices.

The correlation between high oil prices and stocks has not been day-to-day. Sometimes the stock markets can ignore high prices, and the big debate is when will the prices get so high that they hurt the economy.

Are you telling me they're going to do a new urbanist village when the center of the economy is vice? ... Casinos in Mississippi were such a pariah land use that they were not even on land. Now they're going to be the basis of a traditional community?
